December 2020 - January 2021 Update

Over the past two months, I haven't been writing much not only because of the Christmas/New Year's break but also because I studied and had semester finals well into January. Only in the middle of January has my break started and only then have I gotten back to a normal writing/revision speed.

Speaking of, progress on that long Crystal War story has been going smoothly otherwise. I can say I'm about a fifth way through the first pass with my hope that I can finish the first pass entirely by late March/early April and then make substantial progress well into the third pass about halfway through the year. With how big the project is going to be, I may need to have more than one pre-reader for different parts of said story and I have to be active again on the Fimfiction Discord and the occasional PM on this site asking questions related to warfare so I won't sound stupid or ignorant.

Outside that, I've been either stuck or busy with a The Little Curiosities chapter that's proving to be the longest one by a long mile. Sensible, given that it's also a crossover with something. I hope to get it out in a week or so.

As for how I'm doing outside of writing: I'm doing pretty okay by the grace of God. Getting myself into a couple of other hobbies like some alt-history baseball project for Out of the Park Baseball 21, trying to get good in Them's Fightin' Herds, and currently reading some Dostoevsky with The Brothers Karamazov.

Won't say much for now especially since I'll most likely be radio silent story-wise over a big part of the year thanks to the Crystal War project taking up much of my writing time, but rest assured that I am still chipping at work. Which raises the question: What do you think of a progress bar or some other way of publicly tracking my progress through the project without giving away as much info about the story as possible?
