Who are you... who are you...
*Looks ahead* OH! Are we on? *Clears throat* Hit the music!
GOOD MORNING, FIMFICTION FANATICS!!! This is the Dramamaster829; Critic, Actor, Writer, Motivational Speaker and Occasional Singer keeping you up to date with the latest news for the Generation 5 movie and beyond! In nearly over a week since my last blog post, I've been desperately hoping to find something in relation to the movie worth discussing to all my faithful readers. I will admit it has been such a trial, so much so that even waiting just to hear news about what we can truly expect from this movie seemed very elusive. But then fate smiled upon me as we would get an answer regarding possibly the most elusive character this movie's been talking about...
Pipp
The very name itself has gone back-and-forth as fans have been trying to form some connection as to which character is likely to be this Pipp character. On one hand, months back, it would nearly be easy to connect her name with the pony in this picture. But on the other hand, there's has been word in the synopsis concerning a flying Pomeranian...
*Eyes watering* I'm more of a cat person, but still so cute...
Thankfully faithful viewers, after much searching, some news in relation to the upcoming movie draws us to what makes Hasbro a household name: Marketing. Now it's no secret that 'My Little Pony' has always been a toy franchise first and foremost. Even over the years with one new show after another, the object remained in terms of making sure their target audience will buy every toy in relation to their features and television runs. Be it action figures, toy castles, you name it and Hasbro will develop and sell it. But the good thing about these toy products is how somehow we can almost tell what stories we may expect and not just by what is written on the back of a box. With Gen5's upcoming feature drawing ever so closely, we can now take whatever information is provided for us in hopes for a better idea of what more there is to expect of our cast.
Going down the line, all the toys announced are not among those you'd find in any of the markets in the states (At least not right now). But for the most part, they are the kind of toys we can expect for the time being: Action figures that can stand as tall as fifteen centimeters and some about as small as at least 3 inches. The kind of dolls that can sing songs, move their appendages with a push of a button, all the accessories to try, or even strictly for poseable purposes. But we're not here to discuss just actions figures or toy castles with locations in relation to the movie (But still very important) or even a microphone that comes with the action figures. But according to what we're able to uncover, Pipp apparently has an identity...
That Pipp... is the Princess of Pop!
Move aside Sapphire Shores... there's a new pop star in MLP
So by now a lot of fans are probably asking: 'Dramamaster829, if she's the Princess of Pop just how famous does she have to be?' or 'If she's famous, is she only restricted to performing for Pegasi?' or 'Is she the kind of pony who wants to spread her music around Equestria hence why she'd willingly join Sunny and Izzy?'. All very good questions and all of them with one answer I 'can' provide for the time being...
I don't know.

*Clears throat* On the off chance, I had some slight suspicions she might be some form of royalty... hence why Sunny & Izzy were escorted with the Pegasus guards up some fancy elevator. What I did not expect was her being 'that' kind of Princess. Then again it's all a bit of a stretch at this point, like imaging Sunny Starscout with rainbow-colored hair (Sounds like a finale moment) or Izzy apparently making friends with beetles...

But now if we can address the pony who's been the elephant of the room for some time. By now, we've gotten to know about Sunny and we had a rough idea about Izzy... and before anyone says anything, 'yes' Hitch too. It would be no surprise for me if Pipp is truly such a Princess and a love for music that she ends up living in her own palace. We could imagine our heroes going to visit the castle hoping to speak with a representative of a kingdom who rules this land... only to find out she's not really a governing official but is just a performer. Probably trying to maintain some positivity in her kingdom in these trying times, yet probably seeks more out of life. Hence why it almost makes sense why Pipp is heavily involved in merchandising that she shares with two of the girls.
Oh yes... I can totally see this happening, if the vision is appropriate.
Overall, we wanted at least 'one' mystery solved about the movie and to the fact that we not only know who 'Pipp' is and what her role is in this upcoming feature, we can assume this explains a few things. If the movie itself will be as musical as previous MLP related shows and films, it would make sense for Pipp to add some own songs with the kind of energy we can expect in the pop genre. How her services will prove beneficial in Sunny's quest to bring friendship back to all of the land remains to be determined. But if a famous pop star happens to be among the group, even if she's mainly famous around Pegasi, her influence may prove beneficial in spreading Sunny's message that friendship and harmony is what makes a strong nation. Hopefully we eventually get word on her personality as the weeks pass.
But the bigger question remains: What do YOU think?

We are drawing closer and closer before the film's scheduled release on Netflix. Hopefully some further news will develop within the next few weeks or months.

I know, bummer. But apparently from what I heard he film was originally slated for theatrical release on September 24, 2021 by Paramount Pictures, but the release was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic (Freaking excuses). But I also heard it was sold to Netflix, with the film's release being at an unknown date in 2021 (But it could still be in the fall, if not earlier). Netflix also greenlit its follow-up CG-animated series, which will also debut on the streaming service.
