April/Half-May 2021 Update: Parallel Projects · 2:11pm May 15th, 2021

So this is much later than expected, partly thanks to laziness and partly due to other things.

The Crystal War story is still chugging along well, especially since I've now utilized the comment function on LibreOffice. I think I should be moving faster now by giving myself more ground to cover per session, especially now that I've got fewer than ten chapters to go for the first editing pass.

However, I'm concerned that that's still too slow. Other writers can write and edit faster than the pace I'm going at, so I then ask myself, "Why not go for it too?"

Well, that's offset by another project that I have: I'm proofreading a friend's original fiction story, so I'm working both that and the Crystal War story. And also university work. At least for a few more weeks, I still have the advantage of having online classes so I have more time to work on both projects, but past early June, things will be up in the air whether I'll have classes on campus or still online. If the former, then I'll most likely prioritize the original fiction project while also still contributing to the Crystal War project even if at a reduced rate.

To be honest, it's frustrating that this is taking a long time to make. I still make progress almost every day, but the mountain's still quite tall. However, by the grace of God, I will still make more progress, and I will find ways to make myself more efficient at this whole self-editing/proofreading thing.

I've also grown rather slow with reading as of late, partly due to class work and also partly due to picking up on Them's Fightin' Herds and, much more recently, Skullgirls. I will need to rethink the concept of scheduling things when it comes to this, that much I can tell. For now, I'm slowly getting through Nora Roberts' Carnal Innocence... which is much more than I bargained for, to say the least.

That's all for now. Apologies for the late update and relatively not much progress going on (and, unfortunately, also not meeting my original deadline of getting the first editing pass done at around May/June).

Also, a tip or a membership on my Buy Me a Coffee page would be more than appreciated towards my writing endeavors.

I wish you well and may you have a good day ahead by God's grace!
