Someday, I'll stop writing silly comedy stories. However, today isn't "someday".

Update on bonus chapter + possible prequel? · 2:17am Jun 17th, 2021

First off, I thought I'll be able to write & edit the bonus chapter to "Twilight & Spike Give Two Alicorn Princesses 'The Talk'" in about 6 days after I submitted the story and confirmed I'll do it, or in around 3 more days at the time of this blog.

At the time, I thought the chapter would be short, around 2,000-2,500 words. But, seeing on paper (or Google Docs "paper") all that will happen in it (not just what will happen in Canterlot hospital), the chapter now looks like it'll be somewhere between 4,000-6,000 words. So as long as, if not longer, than the first two chapters combined!

If that weren't enough, getting it to "feel" right is a little tougher than I thought it would be. Handling it is more than doable (not the first time I've been in these situations), but it'll further act as a brake, and I don't want to risk rushing the chapter out and have it have issues or holes that I otherwise would have caught and fixed/improved. But enough of that. Taking everything into account, I think the bonus chapter for Twilight & Spike Give Two Alicorn Princesses "The Talk" will be ready in about 6-9 days at the time of this blog.

Now for the prequel I mentioned in the title. The good news is that I could try to write a story with the events this paragraph teased at. It was even something I added it (besides for comedy) as possible prequel bait.

“Don’t worry, Starlight. You’re still alive, and you didn’t kill anypony by messing up spells,” Twilight assured gently. “Plus, it’s not possible for you to accidentally kill anypony with spells.” She scraped the floor with a forehoof and continued, “After the third time I did it and Chrysalis revived us, I cast a worldwide spell to make all Equestrians immune to death by magical mishaps. It’s a long story, so don’t ask what happened.”

The bad news is that I had plans for a couple of stories; one I even started on. If enough readers would want to see this prequel, it would be at least until the middle to late July before the prequel can be written, unless someone else wants to step up to the plate and write it themselves.

So, would you want to see this prequel?

That sounds like it’ll be interesting.

I think you should focus on your contest cuddle fic. That way you don’t have a burnout before you’re able to complete it.
