Huzzah everypony! Since today is International Women´s day, I decided to do something I wanted to do for a long time, which is talk a little bit about myself, most specifically, talk about my favourite female characters in animation and how they inspire me. If you´d like, you could also discuss in the comments who are your favourite animated female characters and why! It would make the

So the Oscar nominations came out, and while there are many surprises and disappointments (*cough* Margot Robbie not nominated for best actress and Greta Gertwig not nominated for best director *cough*), I´m happy to say that two movies from my country are nominated .

About the new disney film.... · 7:52pm Jul 8th, 2021

So for those who don´t know, today disney has released the teaser trailer for the new film Encanto, a movie set in Colombia and it looks very very good.

Can we talk about this for a second? The landscapes are so bright and colourful (just like Colombia is) and the music sounds great with songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda (one of my favourite artists of all time ).

But what I appreciate the most about this movie is the characters.

Here we can see how diverse the characters are. Different skin colours and features, something you usually find when you visit a Latin American countries (bear in mind that most latin americans descent from European, Indigenous and West African people, some mixed and others not), and different body shapes. Their design is amazing. One of my favourites would be Mirabel´s.

Look how beautiful she is! Her beautiful brown skin, her facial features are so distinct and ones that many latin americans have (she reminds me of my mom in fact ), she wears glasses, and her body looks natural like Moana´s. Plus I love her outfit We haven´t seen much of her in the trailer, but I love the awkward energy she radiates :rainbowlaugh:.

I may not be Colombian but as someone whose ancestry is partly Latin American, I am so happy that Disney is diving into Latin American cultures and representing them so beatufully. Also they´re also exploring different countries other than Mexico (their culture is beautiful but Latin America has 20 countries! There´s so much to explore).

Now all I need is a Disney or Pixar movie set in Spain and my life will be complete!

I saw the trailer today and I can't wait to watch this. The diverse representation in films is totally right up my alley.
