Well. This is new. And horrible.

I’ll be candid and short, since my typing is currently compromised by lack of computer and a ventilator that makes voice-to-chat darn near impossible.

    UPDATE:

    Another Month, Another Update

It feels somewhat hyperbolic to open with "EVERYTHING IS WORSE NOW", but here we are.

Life Update: Things Suck Bad (rereading everything to get back to writing though!)

It's... been a bit hasn't it? I really shouldn't leave people in the dark so long. But when it's sometimes this dark, I just have to stare at a wall and wonder if any of my (lovely, wonderful, marvelous) watchers really care to hear what's going on.

    Update: Monkey's Paw

"Boy, I know the oncologist said before that he expects the surgery to happen within 2 to 3 weeks, but I hope not. I'd want to be able to move around at least for my birthday. Gee, I wonder what the surgeon is going to say today..."

    And the Monkey's Paw clenches.

GENERAL WARNING. Moroseness and details on bad cancer stuff incoming.

August Update: This chapter's killing me softly · 4:52am Aug 20th, 2021

Looking like another 10k word update coming down the pipeline. Longer, depending on if I can fit some background stuff in as a Daring quote, or if I have to cut it and hope no one cares what the Anarchyverse's take on Zebra culture is. But the nice thing is working towards the next update after that.

Tell me, readers... have you ever wanted to see a real fight? A battle of music and magic? A titanic clash of ages?

Trixie vs Grogar. The Hostility in Gallopoli.

This song is at the top of my current playlist for several reasons. Among those are lots of spoilers. But it hits a sweet spot, for me. It's important to the next update after this upcoming one.

And in other news... I've been troubled over a couple of minor story ideas. Ideas that are in many ways too similar to things I've already done. One based around a fan-sequel to the wonderful Can Ponies Get Drunk by Highlord Langslock, which I've wanted to write for two years now. But it's really similar to my own Joli Rouge story. And a second one, following the birth of Spike and Rarity's first child in the Anarchyverse, is quite similar to Sunset Glimmer, in some respects.

But I still want to do them. So... conundrum.

A third one I'm struggling with would be something following the character of Pentagram Burst, Midnight and Twilight Sparkle's Great Aunt (and minor supervillain) introduced a bit in All These Midnight Days. I think I'll leave a spoilered gist of the idea, to see what sort of interest there is in pursuing it.

Disqord, while living out his life in the human world's past during his time travel ploy, finds out that a number of people throughout history with connections to the Rainbooms seem to react to the geodes back in Everfree's cave. Specifically, they can see through his magical filter, and so he enlists them every couple of generations to help him keep magic from going "live" too early in the timeline. Sort of like historical Ghostbusters, but for magic. Pentagram Burst, Skydancer, Fermented Apple, May Belle, Sedimentary "Commodore Perry" Pie, and Gentle Breeze are the latest in that legacy. Fighting loose magic, crazed cultists, and even tracking down artifacts of mind-numbing power in the early 1910's, all to keep Magic's secret until the day Sunset Shimmer arrives from Equestria, still a century ahead.

But, saving the day from magical mayhem is one thing. Knowing that you can never reveal the amazing stories you get to live, nor ever act on your feelings for your best friend because you're not "meant to be together", is entirely another matter. For the future of two worlds, Pentagram must keep her secrets. But it isn't easy, and one might say it also isn't fair to have one's entire future laid out for her without her input or consent.

That is... until she lays on her deathbed, and receives a birthday gift from Disqord. One free do-over. A whole new timeline, free from the predestination of the old.

Will she forge a new destiny for herself alongside the Apple of her eye? Or will Pentagram Burst fall back into old habits, and lose out on her one and only chance to be happy...

Let's go ahead and say it's a Romance story.

Catch you later!

Wow thats alot man

That spoilered synopsis looked pretty good. We don't often see any EqG stuff set before Sunset's arrival, other than the rare Star Swirl era piece.

This synopsis looks sweet :D

Ooh, Peggy Sue meets Atomic Robo. Sounds like all kinds of fun. But first, we have unicorn vs. ram. Best of luck.
