Account Update: Plans for the Future

Come around children, ol' Flinx's got a story to tell you. It's a big one, and it's rather important. If you like me updating you all, keeping you in the know, and putting out what I do here (sparse as it has been as of late, but we're working on it slowly but surely), I invite you to pull up a chair and ask any questions when we finish up.

First of all, I plan to be far more present here as well as some other site in the coming future. Not just because I enjoy writing and hate letting my tools dull over pointless nonsense, but because I miss hearing from everyone. It's always a good time around here, even when I put out a story that gets a little jeered. It's all in good fun, and all of you inspire me to do better and be better.

I also am trying to very much divert more towards earning money through this work. Yes, I know it's an ugly topic that some of us would rather avoid, but it's about time we sit down and have a chin wiggle on the subject. I have a Ko-fi that people can check out that I've been tooling away at for some time, trying to get it to a state where I feel satisfied. Where I'm giving a lot in return to the people, and where I can still hold myself together in my life beyond the writing; until my life can be writing. All the money I make through the Ko-fi goes towards all the little itches and bites I have to deal with; bills and the sort that my day job won't be able to cover at once. I'm not struggling or in any danger, so don't you worry any about that; it all just makes things a little easier.

Putting a little money in the jar with a coffee, ordering a commission, or applying for the new membership package for just two dollars a month. It all helps, and I am always very grateful. I will be committing a lot of effort into seeing it flourish and make sure even those few dollars go for a mile to everyone who puts in.

But that's all the pitch, let me tell you how things will be looking for the coming future on just my current merits.

WORK PLANS:

Every month will have FOUR set projects.

One will be an update voted on at some point in the month by anyone who chooses to voice an opinion.

One will be an update voted on by Ko-fi members in a secret poll (meaning if you're one of the only members, you have far more voting power. Fancy.)

Two will be a free form update or new story of my choice.

After that, it's just free balling the rest of the month. Commission work, random polls about random stuff, or just me taking a stroll and doing what I want. But no matter what, the four projects will be done separate each month as a nice little quota. Later down the line if this starts looking good and we get positive response, we may increase the quota each month just so it looks more sweet.

It says it in the member details, obviously, but I just thought I'd add it here because I do think it's a pretty nifty deal a partner of mine thought up. For every member, as you put in money over the months, you can use that accumulating pot to "spend" towards any commission you want; be it an update or a story of your own design. Like making little payment plans or building up a rewards card. You never have to take advantage of it, and the points never go away; it's just a nice little added bonus I wanted to add on.

Summery.

I don't entirely know if four projects is too little, but as it stands I already work rather early in the day and often have obligations after for some time. But, I always make the time, and I'd be lying if a lot of the time I am just sitting here doing nothing. Put a fire under me, and I'll get right to work.

I'm hopeful, and I look forward to seeing you all soon in a group poll coming soon. I do hope some of you will consider becoming a member of my Ko-fi, or just decide to toss a little bread in the jar to let me know I got a little fire in the corner. I'm always happy to be here; I just wish I could make it more reliving knowing my passion here is still going towards helping out my future.
