September 2021 Update · 2:59pm Oct 11th, 2021

The cold -ber months are kicking in, and I've got little to say for now. Well, the somewhat self-obligatory reference to my Buy Me a Coffee page for tips to get that out of the way—

For starters, I'm closing in on the second editing pass for the Crystal War story. I am sounding like a broken record here, but I will do my best by the grace of God to make speedy progress on this as 2021 comes to a close. As for that Equestria Girls Apple Bloom short story, I'm currently writing a second rough draft to speed up the pace. That should be out before the end of the year.

And hopefully some shorter story set in G5 now that I've watched the movie. The pacing was too fast moving into the movie's third act and perhaps there should've been ten or twenty more minutes to bring in further characterization for all the main cast, but I hear that those weak points are commonly cited. Still, it was a great ride throughout! Consider me signed up for the G5 hype train!

As for what I've read, I wasn't able to read much this month, but I can cite two stand-outs: GTthe4th's A Silent Night in the North is a good AU-establishing fic, especially for an AU that doesn't seem to diverge much (at least this early on), but it also stands out much on its own with good characterization spread throughout the main characters. I don't read darker fan fics that much, but this one made me hang on even when things got dim.

Also, on the non-fan fic side of things, there's Michael Connelly's The Narrows, a thriller mystery in the Harry Bosch series. And I'm getting the feeling that I'll be taking a lot of cues from Connelly since I've got a ton of second-hand Connelly books: a penchant for fast pacing for one...

And that will be it for now! My apologies if this is too much silence, but I'll keep on keeping on. See ya round and may God keep you safe!

Glad to see that A Silent Night in the North left a good impression on you, even if it admittedly wasn't my best work. Still, from this point on, the AU diverges from canon in a massive way, so keep your eyes peeled for the next story (will be out soon, I'm taking my time with it, as well as doing a new strategy in regards to releasing chapters). I hope you like Spyro.

God bless! :scootangel:
