Update Log 4: Big Changes · 10:08am Oct 30th, 2021

Wow. It's been one hell of a year, hasn't it?
...well, it will be by the time it's all over.
I'm here to give updates, and a brief glimpse into the mind and life of a mad author.
So... things have been happening, I got a lot to get through, and I don't want to bore you all to tears (which I'm already doing) so let's get into it.
1. The Son of infinity
I've been promising updates and by Tartarus or high water they will be done. I'm promising 3 new chapters by Hearth's Warming: one worldbuilding chapter I'm going to have to rush because I haven't started and want to get onto the next which is; one Nightmare Night chapter, which I'll talk about in a bit, and may even be delayed until early November (sorry if it is); and of course, the all-important Hearth's Warming chapter, chronicling the end of the first year of Solstar's Journey.
Unfortunately, the 31st is tomorrow (and Australians get it earlier than most of the rest of you so I have even less time than you might think) and I have half an assignment to do due as well to get through. Chances are, I may end up cutting it close (releasing the first 2 chapter(s) that night) or even delaying them until November. University is important after all.
Also, I don't care if MLP Next Gen is out, Solstar's getting his happy ending. I'm continuing his series until I'm happy or get constantly driven back to previous chapters I'm not happy with and want to rewrite until I'm six feet under. Yes, I'm talking about Tolkien having never finished the Fall of Gondolin. No, I will not apologise for such a reference.
2. The Equiverse
I've... well, I'm about as sure on Tolkien when it comes to stories. I've come up with more than I care to admit, and nearly all of them have been retconned or cancelled at one point or another. In the beginning I came up with an idea for 6 main worlds, each with a main character, and those six would be my primary focus.... unfortunately, that 6 has been varying over the last year or so, and has even been nearly abolished entirely. I don't plan on just letting those tales gather dust though- they're all still technically "canon" and some characters may even make cameo appearances in stories I do write. That said, the fate of the Equiverse as a whole is beginning to sway, as events transpire to push and pull me every which way... such as JYC Row's "infinite eclipse" series that will eventually be coming out. (Go check him out, he's an awesome guy, and his music is phenomenal) But just, when I heard what would be on the horizon, and looking at what I had planned...
...it took me some time to pull myself together. Pony gods, battles between good, evil, and the primeval forces that make up the world? It... almost felt like whatever I tried to create with my own stories that were similar would be permanently overshadowed by such a dominating project of such a popular artist/creator in the MLP community.
Now though, after having some time alone to think... I think I'll still give it a shot.
3. The Sum of infinity
Continuing on... I almost shut down Admæi's story entirely... thought about spinning it off into it's own universe- which I still plan on doing with a variation (they won't be the same character, just incredibly similar) but after all the hints and teasers I've been dropping, and how proud I was with how it was coming along... I've spent half a decade ironing out Admæi's story. I'm not letting it die just yet. Admæi and Solstar were my first pony OCs. My first MLP fanfic ideas. They're intertwined more deeply than just their exceedingly similar looks (So what if they've both got a black coat and white mane? I was creatively bankrupt that day, give me a break!). Admæi's story will be told. Though as for any others apart from these two...
4. The Retcon Journals
A pet project of mine, they're going to be where everything I don't think is good enough to publish goes. From first drafts to rewritten storylines, terrible ideas I never gave a second glance to (I'm looking at you, Keldeo. I never should have thought a Keldeo in Equestria displaced story would be a good idea. Too cliché) ...where was I? Ah, yeah... to stories I planned an entire series for but couldn't be bothered to do anything more for (no matter how good the idea).
Every spelling mistake and lore hiccup, every cringeworthy paragraph and extensive plot spoiler, all in two places.
Which brings me to the question: "Why two? Couldn't you just do it all in one book?" Yeah, yeah. Well, I could, but some stories are PG fun and games while others are R-rated gritty... well, not quite "reality" per say... but tell me that Chrysalis would never attempt to exploit lust as a food source and I'll show you the door.
Release date(s) undetermined. I haven't exactly settled on a format yet.
5. The future
Once I bother to finish MLP FiM, I'll get to watching the next gen. I plan on making stories for the Gen 5, but have no idea where to start yet because I refuse to spoil it for myself, and I'm worried it has FiM spoilers given magic went missing and Twilight was the alicorn embodiment of magic (according to some sources) (don't throw a fit if I'm absolutely bonkers and this is all completely wrong- and please don't spoil it).
Who knows? I have an idea on even visiting some of the older generations... Gen 3 with Grogar and the like... maybe even G1 or G2. Who knows?
P.S. Still working on that Discord server idea. Not exactly high on my priority list at the moment.
Well... I guess that's all for now.
TL;DR
Will be continuing Solstar's story. Admæi's story is still in the works. My story ideas and cringe-worthy first drafts will be available at some point. Expect Gen 5 stories... "eventually".

Apparently I have one more message for you all.
The boss want's me to let you know that translating these recorded tapes should only take a few weeks each, not the multiple months that I'm taking per chapter. He also wants me to let you know to...
...no? Wow. Ok.
He apparently wants me to tell you to ignore all mention of me "inventing" these stories, and that these tapes may or may not be delivered to me on a bi-monthly basis by courier to retell the tales that he has recorded, which I am "only translating" from Modern Standard English Equish to plain English.
...at least, that's what "Admæi" wants me to tell you all anyway. I'll leave whether it's true or not up to your imagination.

Whoah man you have a lot going on in there. I feel ya, college is more important, so make sure you don't fall behind and fail your first final like I did. And yeah, I'll be sticking with G4 for the foreseeable future as well, the characters and story have a special place in my heart I'm not ready to even partially move on from.
Also like how you incorporated some fourth-wall-breaking in the final bit, good job. Can't wait for the continuation!

(The tapes thing was inspired by Rick Riordan's Kane Chronicles- definitely worth the read)
Ad-endum notes:
Gonna do some organising soon and see if I can get some bonus content out. I may be terrible with consistent content, but my imagination never stops, and I got plenty of material to offer in the meantime.
Additionally, any stories published as a part of the Retcon Journals that enough people want to see in full may be made into the full story as originally intended... maybe with a twist or two, maybe completely the same (spoilers and all), or maybe with a... divergent path (aka another rewrite).
EDIT: The Retcon Journals contain a combined total of 33 chapters, a few containing multiple ideas, many of them under a few hundred words, some upwards of several thousand when I put all the information in. Whoo nelly this is gonna be big.
To my good friend out there that pointed out secret messages that only reveal themselves when they're highlighted because they're on a white background don't work on night mode, this is for you. Thanks for the suggestion to add a night-mode-only secret. (hint hint)

What's too cliche? If you mean the whole comic con or merchant bit, you can try something different and new of a start and avoid those cliches. It will start count as Displaced as long as its human A being turned into character B and being sent to alternative equestria C.

It's all good. Just wanted to give you some advice and provide a original start for your displaced. I know how so many people who are new to writing or to the Displaced would end up following famous cliches.
