Merry Christmas Eve! · 9:01am Dec 24th, 2021

Another month, another blogpost, another apology but with good news this time!
After much deliberating, after much agonizing over nothing, we finally have a new chapter to share. It should have updated right before we post this blog.
Here is our problem: we spent nearly a year writing material, and throughout that year we had been adjusting it, adding in new details, taking out stuff we decided shouldn't be there, and polishing it up. When we were finally ready to post, we took our existing material, touched it up, and posted in weekly~bi-weekly updates.

Our reserves were nearly exhausted, and in less than a month we had used up over half of our material. This did not set a realistic precedent for us, or for you the reader. We had enough material to theoretically pump out another chapter, but so much needed to change to fit everything together, it would take much longer to get it ready than we had hoped. Our short break turned into a quarter of a year, and that's no good. I would have much rather spent that quarter of a year posting material gradually then dropping a chunk and going dry.

I won't lie. Original Generations, something so common in fandoms like Power Rangers or Digimon, are incredibly rare on the MLP scene. The fandom is devoted to the show that the franchise spent ten entire years on, and they're content to explore the setting and characters years after the show's end. When A New Generation rolled around, I SkarletSet (and not we, Team Gen S) felt pressured to present our story as quickly as possible, so that we could have characters and a status quo on the table before the new generation solidified. So I rushed, and posted chapters weekly with the intent of taking short breaks in between. Obviously this didn't work.

I do not know when the next chapter is going up. Much like last time, the material is there, but it will take some honing to be in the place we want it to be for posting.

When you promised to give somebody something, and you don't, but you manage to finally give it to them on Christmas, does it really count as a Christmas gift?
Iunno. Happy Holidays, enjoy the chapter, and hopefully we'll see you all soon.

~Team GenS
