Someone on a Discord I'm in asks if they can join the D&D game I'm DMing, saying that they understand if they can't get in because it's close to Sunday, when it sounds like it's going to start.
Me accepting them into the first session that is about a week earlier than I anticipated for a campaign I was treating as more of a thought experiment until recently:
So, you mean you've a campaign I can join?

If you're trying to frighten me, it's not working; it's not the quantity of people I'm worried about, it's how much faster the whole thing seems to be coming together than I expected.

I hope it's overall a good thing. A DnD campaign can be lots of fun. What do you plan on running?

Oh, don't worry, overall it's a good thing. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone like this is a good way to inspire growth. In terms of what I plan on running, it will be a somewhat high/epic fantasy campaign on Roll20. Moderate-to-high-magic pseudo-medieval world, the usual.
Okay, so I just had Session 0, and one of the players (Fiend Warlock) asked if they could use some custom content.
To be precise, they wanted an ability that would allow them to eat bugs. Small bugs only, so no "I devour the Ankheg" shenanigans.
I told them they didn't need an ability to do that, I was vaguely concerned about why it would be relevant, and that I ultimately decided it was better not to ask.
Cool. I’m actually doing a D&D with another user.
