You mean, better than in, um, 2020, when I had such bad back problems? Yes. Largely due to not spending so much time at a computer every day. Also thanks to this device I invented, for using a computer while lying in bed (with the screen projected onto the ceiling):

Ill be there finances willing. Cant wait to visit the top shitposting con

thats awesome!

Happy to know you’ve recovered fully. Yeah, doing computer all day can be really nasty for your spine, especially if the table or desk or whatever piece of furniture you put your computer on is too low and you have to bend.

Did you design that contraption yourself? Mind you, looks like such a nurdish thing! :p

Did you design that contraption yourself?

Yes. That's my 3rd or 4th design. It turns out that lying on your back and holding your arms up in the air for more than a few minutes is painful, so you have to get the keyboard very precisely into a position so that you can still see the screen and the keyboard, your elbows are resting on the bed, your forearms are both held straight up with no deviation to the right or to the left, your hand is leaning slightly on the keyboard, and your fingertips are at just the right height on the keyboard. All those holes (I made too many) are to make tilt and keyboard extension adjustable. A deviation of a single centimeter in any direction would make it intolerably painful.

Impressive work. I didn't know you had such woodcraft. Your definitely multi-talented.
Never thought about patenting it and going into volume production? I’m sure it'd be a smash hit with nurds! :)

Well, I'm sure not going to go into volume production using wood. I don't know how to go about building things with metal or plastic in large volume. Do you?

5659505
No, I have not. I would be wary of plastic, though. Easily cracks or wears out. Wood or metal seem apt for that sort of use.

I’m not much of an industrial. I’m like you: I build prototypes for personal enjoyment. Never bothered about ramping up production. But that idea could be patented and then you could ask around if an already established company – especially those which sell computer furniture – is interested in the concept. After all, that’s what designers do, don’t they?

I live here. :V

I'll be there, but I'll need to find a room to crash in during the day. Literally crash in. I need to start asking around for whomever can let me lie on their bed for a while when the disability strikes.

Good luck. I need a costume-change room, and I haven't found one.
