Chapter 33 Soon! · 2:30am Jun 7th, 2022
Don't worry, the story isn't dead! A new chapter is coming out Friday night, come Tartarus or high water! Lots of new job and life stuff has been happening plus the ending is... a lot of drama and action that I've been visualizing and feeling for far too long. It's been over two years now... (The last chapter isn't the next but hilariously close to it.)
To hold you over until then, have some cut 'scenes' from the last chapter. These were removed for maximum Punch and tone but I'm still pretty happy with them, enough to share after the break! Consider them 'deleted scenes' from the last chapter!
When her rage ended, I saw Sergeant Fleur De Lis struggle to pull her polearm from its body. I saw her strain with bandaged limbs and the deep gash in her barrel hampering her. Her muzzle shimmered from the blood coming from her nostrils.
“Sergeant?” I asked. She didn't respond. "Sergeant!" She whipped her eyes towards me and looked confused. Comet Tail and Carrot Top turned to see why I yelled while Minuette helped carry the wounded back to the field hospital.
“What?!” Fleur snarled at me. I jumped. I saw her lick her lips after she spoke and then, realizing how much there was, wipe the blood on her bandaged foreleg.
“You’re hurt!” I said, pointing to her side.
“So is everypony else!” she yelled but sat back onto her haunches and used her polearm as a crutch to turn and look at her side anyway. She frowned at the offending gash. “It’s not as bad as it looks.”
“Why don’t you take a break?”
“Pantsy didn’t take a break,” she said between gritted teeth. I saw her brace herself and finally tear her weapon from the corpse. “Semper Fi, Berry.” She looked at my friends and over my shoulder at my daughter before looking back at me. “I think you understand.”
As my heartbeat started to slow I could feel the tremors and aches in my legs again. I was ignoring them though. I nodded.
As we crossed what may have been the actual Treebrary from the show, I saw a bear get thrown from the balcony and landed in front of us. We all eventually stopped when we realized the bear was knocked out and tied up with a rope of colored handkerchiefs. We heard cheering from inside the library and at the balcony from where the bear was thrown, Trixie appeared, wearing a cape and cloak complete with bells that rang with every step.
“Did we win yet?” Trixie asked our group with some annoyance.
“Town Center is overrun!” Vinyl said as she stepped forward.
“Then the show must go on!” Trixie declared. Trixie glanced back.
“Find someone safer for them! Like the other side of the portal!” she yelled before turning back to us and throwing something down to the ground near us that exploded into a pillar of smoke. Almost immediately, Trixie stepped out of the smoke in front of us that was already starting to disperse.
“Foals,” she explained while rolling her eyes. I looked back up at the balcony, half-expecting another Trixie to still be up there. Trixie looked around at our stalling group. Everypony else seemed just as surprised.
“Well?? Let’s go!” Trixie said impatiently before she began heading towards town hall herself, each step causing the bells on her outfit to ring more. Vinyl, Harmony, and all the rest quickly continued after her.
