Update Blog - (7/8/2022)

Hello and welcome to this month's update blog. Just a couple things to go over regarding future updates to UTF and other projects in the work.

Starting with the more recent, major change just added to UTF, the rating has gone down to "Teen." This had been a goal of mine ever since the beginning of writing this story, and after quite a while going back and forth, I ultimately decided to go ahead and implement the new rating. The only reason I released it with an M rating at first was mainly due to very specific scenes within the story, both in current and future chapters. However, it was not what I originally wanted, mainly for two reasons.

1. For some readers -- myself included, at times -- seeing an M rated story is a major turn off, hence why there is option to toggle them in the first place. Some readers just don't feel like spending time reading something potentially very, very gory, sexual, inappropriate, etc. Even if such content isn't listed in the tags, description, or even title, to some, simply seeing a giant, red M is just a major warning and enough for them to skip over potentially amazing stories just because the rating alone was not something they were not willing to risk.

2. I want this to almost feel like a plausible -- albeit very far-fetched -- continuation of the series. I want readers to be able to read through this and not feel like they are reading some screwed up version of the MLP franchise they came to know and love, but rather one that feels just like the very same Equestria, just taken in a different, never before seen direction. And even though I did previously mention that some scenes might be too much for a T rated story, the original show produced an amazing, very memorable storyline without any blood, gore, swearing, etc. And because of that, I am inspired and hopeful that, with the right effort, I too can produce a good story that doesn't require all that more mature material to get the point across.

With those reasons in mind, some of the previous chapters have been slightly edited -- and I mean slightly. As for future chapters, the only thing that will really change is that the swearing count will slightly decrease and descriptions of blood and gore will be toned down.

But even with all that said, I do not wish to change the direction of the story simply due to a change in rating. I just strongly believe that I can write it out in a more enjoyable, less... intense and excessive manner.

Now with that said, I understand that I am far from perfect in terms of a writer, and I accept that and am willing to grow as such. So this is where y'all, the community, come into play. Please, please don't be afraid to give your feedback and advice. If you feel like anything I'm doing in regards to writing this story, whether it be past, current or future decisions of mine, is something you do not agree with, I encourage you to let me know via comment, DM, whatever. Feedback is the best way to grow, IMO.

To finish up with UTF news... I'm really hesitant in my decision to say this, but the next chapter is planned for release by the end of next week. Now the reason I say that is because life has been really busy as of recent. I've only within the last couple days acquired enough free time to get back to writing, but even I know that it isn't right for me to make excuses. Still, with that said, the next chapter should be released in only a matter of days. So to those of you who have been asking me about it, thank you for your patience and interest, I promise I'm doing my part. It's coming soon.

As for other projects, the outline for the next Apex Legends x MLP one shot is in development. No set release date yet, but I will keep y'all in the loop regarding progression.
