After gaining spider abilities, Luster has been fighting crime in Canterot City as the superhero "Spider-Girl".
As Luster balanced his ongoing hero duties with the demands of her high school life, she was recruited by billionaire Twilight Sparkle (a.k.a Iron Girl) to join "The Avengers Civil War", putting her in a brief conflict with her childhood hero: Applejack Rogers (a.k.a Captain Equestria).
In exchange for her help, Luster received a new suit and technology from "Sparkle Industries", allowing her to return home to continue her own work as a superhero.
As she continued to try to prove herself a worthy hero in Twilight's eyes so she could join "The Avengers", Luster began investigating the illicit criminal activities of the new supervillain known as "The Vulture", who was trying to sell his weapons based on Chitauri technology on the black market.
Believing that capturing the Vulture would prove her worth as a hero, Luster had decided to go after him alone, with only the help of her best friend Silverstream, as she attempted to win her academic decathlon finals.
Eventually, Luster won the affections of her classmate Smolder, but she learned that her father, Torch, was Vulture.
Luster managed to foil the Vulture's theft of a "Sparkle Industries" cargo plane, to which Twilight showed her respect by offering Luster an official spot with the Avengers.
In the end, Luster refused this to remain a rookie hero in Canterlot City, despite his mother discovering his secret identity.
