Change... It always happened, no matter what anyone or anything tried to do about it, for good or bad change was a given. Still... Chrysalis had almost managed to change the fate of her hive to her whims, she had stood at the cusp of greatness and failed to grasp it.
Instead the Queen of Changelings had suffered a catastrophic blow.
She and her brood were blasted far away into the desolate badlands.
She had failed to change just as her mother before her...

But change did not play favorites. And Chrysalis still had a part to play.

As she lay broken and beaten within an inch of her life fighting for what little of it she had left, something in the sky shook in agony and shock, as an entity not meant for this world crashed into it. Something very old and alien. Something kind and wise. Something terrible and awe inspiring.
Something blue and something changed...

And the universe would never be the same...

When you're a lonely love vampire, you befriend baby dragons. It's what you do.

When you're an alpha bugmoose who adopts an entire hive, you teach reformed parasites how to be cute and cuddly. It's what you do.

Love is shared, Thorax and the changelings are freed, Chrysalis is defeated, and alls well that ends well. But Twilight isn't Celestia. An escaping villain should be chased down. In pursuit of chrysalis however, Twilight is surprised to uncover the truth of who the queen really is, and learns a little of the truth of politics in the process.

A personal twist on the season 6 finale, inspired by watching said finale, listening to my brother complain about it, and pondering how I would have structured the story differently. Less a "Fix" and more a "what would I do if I ran the zoo?"

Reformed changeling Thorax approaches Spike and Twilight with a royal dilemma: reforming Queen Chrysalis. Twilight thinks she knows just the mare for the job - and that mare has a peculiar solution.

Takes place between "The Times They Are a Changeling" and the end of Season 6.

What kind of danger could he possibly face when he gets ready to ask his friend Thorax if their friendship could become something more? The kind he might least expect!

Chrysalis and Cadence come face to face, with family at their sides, in an effort to both move on.
