Evil is as evil does. Therefore, King Sombra is a monster, and there's no debating it. So when Sombra is discovered alive it should be obvious that he's up to nothing good and needs to be taken down... So why isn't he doing anything? Twilight Sparkle is sent in to try to answer this question by talking to him, while she also tries to determine what the future will hold for the ex-king. Is there even a chance for Sombra's future? Or is the shadow of his actions destined to destroy him?

Her schedule was clear. Shining and Cadence were off on vacation. She'd prepared all her materials. Twilight Sparkle was more than ready to spend a fun-filled weekend babysitting her favorite niece.

But she wasn't prepared for King Sombra's return. Nopony could prepare to be trapped with him inside a storybook of fairy tales.

King Sombra, the tyrant of Crystal Empire is back, only to be imprisoned by princesses and put through reformation with Twilight Sparkle as his teacher. Can somepony with heart as black as night be reformed? Twilight believes so. Sombra in other hoof isn't so sure but something in that mare makes him try.

This is going to be one of my longest stories this far. Marked Teen for sexual innuendo and slightly gory-ish scenes. Nothing too bad though. Also this will not be a story that deserves a dark marking.

Twilight seeks out Sombra's horn after his defeat to study it but quickly finds herself studying with him once she finds the horn. Despite Sombra safely residing inside his own horn, Twilight learns that he is slowly dying.

How will Twilight behave once she learned of Sombra's fate?

Former King of the Crystal Empire Sombra wakes up in a cell with the given decision between reformation or a lifetime in prison. He accepts with some caution and after some details are sorted out, he is moved to the castle of Princess Twilight Sparkle under reformation.
With all the craziness about the arrival of an evil slave king going through the humble town of Ponyville, Sombra is left wondering what he got himself into.
Can two ponies who hate each other with all their guts become friends and prove that old habits can be changed? It depends on how you define 'hate'...

UPDATE: Under... construction perhaps? It has been years but... maybe I'll update this. After I rewrite every chapter, of course.

Twilight Sparkle has become known for being able to make friends out of many of her and her friends' past foes. And in the wake of the revival of the Crystal Empire, she sets herself the task of helping one more. Sombra, who has survived the attack on him by the Crystal Heart. But, Twilight soon finds that she might have bitten off a bit more than she can chew with this one.

(Due to a lack of Green portals with Twilight involved in opening them I've decided to use the following picture from a comic made by FireBrandKun. The picture is a cropped piece of the comic and full credit of it's creation goes to him.)

Twilight has been studying portals she calls 'Rifts in the Veil' otherwise called Veil portals. After the appearance of humans in Equestria, she set out to learn and find out much about these portals.

Now she has the opportunity to test an experiment on one. Against her better judgement, she travels to the Crystal Empire alone to test her experiment on a Veil portal that has been sighted in a cave near the Crystal City.

But could this experiment backfire and send her through the very thing that she is studying?

Twilight does her best to reform King Sombra, but things don’t go exactly as planned.

Twilight Sparkle has a secret: her mind is not hers alone.

King Sombra, tyrant of the Crystal Empire, was spared from his destruction. Twilight Sparkle welcomed his severed consciousness into her own, and began to learn from and hopefully teach the fallen unicorn. No one knows what she has done, and now fate has thrown a wrench into her plans.

Back in Ponyville after her coronation as Equestria's newest princess, Sombra refuses to ignore Twilight's new station in life.
