Things rarely go to plan though, and along the way, they discover things about themselves, and find love, drama, and laughter. Then Chrysalis changes everything, and the fate of the whole world might be at stake. Their lives will never be the same!

This story is set mostly after the events of Conversations in a Canterlot Cafe and builds on the fanon of the series, especially changelings, so you might want to read those stories first for background material.

Metamorphosis has at long last returned to the Hive, his birthplace. He is eager to find a way to fit in among his fellow changelings despite not being reformed. His sons are of course by his side every step of the way. Together, the three of them will reintroduce Metamorphosis to Equestria, all while dealing with the normal drama and adventure that comes with being a family.

Edit: added Profanity tag just in case I have Phar use some language. Also, it should be known that this story will have multiple acts (details below).

Act one: Metamorphosis is reintroduced to society, while Pharynx's old issues with being an outcast begin to rear their head. Follow what happens when Metamorphosis discovers that a voice whispers to his eldest son. A voice he's all too familiar with...

Act two: Now that Pharynx's outcast-driven issues have been put to rest, Metamorphosis experiences daily life at the Hive, starting with preparing for the winter holidays.

Act three: Spring is coming to the Changeling Hive, and Metamorphosis believes he has finally beginning to belong among the reformed changelings, taking on a role as a grand patriarch. But not everyone is content to sit back and watch the rain fall outside. Will Metamorphosis be able to handle the new developments?

Act Four: Spring has come and summer is looming on the horizon. Metamorphosis is forming even stronger bonds with his sons. But while everything between them is normally calm, Metamorphosis will discover nothing can be perfect for long, and not even twins get along all the time. And when secrets begin to rise to the surface, will Metamorphosis find that who he thought he was was never the truth?

Act Five: Summer has come, with new experiences for Metamorphosis and his family. With the brothers in harmony (for the time being), their Gemi-might be new knowledge to be gained and new bonds to create between Metamorphosis' sons and creatures he knows well. And Metamorphosis may just discover something new about himself as well.

Act 6: Fall comes and Ocellus returns to her school, but Metamorphosis will find peace does not come with one less creature to worry about. And soon, a new-old evil looms, threatening him and his family.

“What wimp?” Pharynx asked, opening a lavender eye and looking at his brother.

“Why is mom our only parent?”

“Huh?” Pharynx raised his head.

“All the other nymphs have a mom and a dad. How come we don’t have a dad?”

One conversation over twenty years ago can do a lot. Soon after the anniversary of Chrysalis' defeat, Thorax and Pharynx begin to question...where's their father? After a little while of searching, they think they've found a lead. But one problem still remains...because deep down...Pharynx still isn't sure if finding their dad will fix anything...and if they do find him...will Thorax still need him?

Head General Fortuna Larynx has never chosen an apprentice before. She's never seen a changeling nymph that had the qualities she was looking for. That is, until Pharynx Elytron, the oldest child of Chrysalis-regina, reaches the apprenticing age. Fortuna knew from the stories she had heard that no other warriors would be able to turn Pharynx into the changeling she knew he was capable of becoming. So, it's time for her to finally select an apprentice to mentor. Fortuna can only hope she'll be able to encourage Pharynx to be his best self without too much interference from his mother.

When Zenith ends up in an accident that has him doubting in the guidance of their ancestors, Apex worries about when the exact right time may be... or if one even exists.

The changelings are finally living in harmony with most of the world, and they're content knowing their Royal family is watching over them. But when a forgotten enemy begins to rise to the forefront, fear follows in their wake. With their protectors in disarray, the changelings are afraid. And for once, Thorax, Apex, and the rest of their family don't know how to help. To find their way out of this, it looks as though they'll need a true miracle.

As a young changeling, Pharynx Elytron was known by all his fellow nymphs as the toughest, most ferocious of them all. And if you touched his brother, you were guaranteed to be beaten up later. When it was time for them to be apprenticed, they all hoped to be picked by the best of the best, the legendary Aureum in Generali, Fortuna-domina. The changeling had never taken an apprentice before, but with two royal children in the newest batch of apprentices, the nymphs were sure she had to make her appearance. Yet, when it was time for the nymphs to be matched with mentors, Fortuna chose Pharynx, the one changeling that they were all sure didn't need the guidance the rest of them deserved.

...Or did he?

When Apex Cornea asked Pharynx-dominus, Head General of the Hive's army, to mentor him, he never expected the outbreak of near war with the ponies. He never expected his mentor to be called away. He never even considered that Thorax, the Outcast, the Heirless Prince, the Rankless One, would try to leave the Hive because he doesn't believe in their methods.

Even more so, he never thought that he would end up seeing the older changeling...kind of has point. Now, there is so much more in store for him than he ever expected.

When Bandit and Celestia decide to have a little Mother-Son breakfast outing, they decide to head to a new restaurant. But things don't go appropriately planned when Bandit is the first to enter the restaurant.
