On this 400^th anniversary of the Crimson Week, the Canterlot Archives is proud to present Poet Laureate Songbird’s most famous work. Written for Princess Celestia over the summer of 617 during her melancholic “Rump Regency,” it details the origins of that horrible week and was an attempt in Songbird’s own words “to be a balm on the wounds that continue to plague us today.”

Please enjoy this all-time classic from the Darkened Sun era of Equestria's literary canon.

Twilight Sparkle is your regular unicorn mage, and one day she stumbles upon what seems to be a cache of energy weapons stored there by some friendly passerby. Definitely did not fall from the sky because of a meteor.

And upon discovering them, she knows what she must do.

Take over Equestria so no one else would dare to use them to harm anypony else.

It's not like she could destroy them or anything, right?

The story is complete, two chapters releasing a day. I will not reveal how many chapters there are in total yet.

And by PresentPerfect's advice, I will not write stories like this by multiple stories in a series! It is multiple chapters in one story! WOOOO!

Even for a superfan like Rainbow, there are things you don't learn about the Wonderbolts until you become the newest part of the squad. Like how the view from the back of the formation never really changes, or that the slipstream carries a few unwelcome scents to the rear position. Or laundry. Nopony told her that the new mare was going to be responsible for doing the laundry. And the whole wash/dry process is just boring.

There's got to be a way to make laundry more interesting. Surely she can make an impression on Spitfire if she just... stunts it up.

Rainbow always makes an impression on ponies. And the landscape. A few windows. The occasional building...

Now, this story deserved the Grand Prize. Everything good that could be in a story, is in this story. There’s hurt, there’s comfort, there’s awwww-moments, there’s ouch,ouch,ouch-moments, an ending that will leave you in tears for a good hour… And the unexpected little twists that, as a Rainbow fan, I absolutely loved. A fall? Addiction? Her fears of another; her fears of somepony else following in her hoofsteps? Beautiful.
