So much chaos, so much death. Equestria is in turmoil, and Starswirl is in despair. How could he have ever thought that he would end it? Why did he ever think he could make a difference?

After the Royal Sisters came into power, explorers set out across Equestria to make new discoveries and to report what they found. Dashing Hoof was one such pony, and his discovery was perhaps the most magical of all.

When Starswirl the Bearded sets out to find an end to the chaos plaguing Equestria, he asks his friend Halo to accompany him. The pegasus mare has yet to earn her cutie mark, but perhaps she can find her purpose along the way...

While visiting her hometown, a small filly approaches Lyric with a question. Unicorns have their magic and pegasi can fly, but is there anything that makes earth ponies special? Fortunately, Lyric just may have the answer.

This story was inspired by someone I don't associate with anymore, but was close with at the time of writing.

Note: This story has nothing to do with the movie Music of the Heart. I didn't even know it existed until I searched the story title a few minutes before posting. If I can think of a better title for my story, I'll change it.

This story is a sequel to In the Company of Night

Gold and his ponies go forth at the end of every summer, looking for those foals whose destinies are in motion, are uncertain, are an embodiment of all possibilities, all things, suspended in the great magical excess which is the end of the growing season. Miracles bloom in the over-fertilized last few weeks of the summer season, and nothing is so full of potential as foals who have not yet found their own futures. Suspended, between past and future. Suspended, before the moment of realization.

Starlight's redemption hasn't been easy. Heck, it's been hard. Still, at least her birthday would be coming up soon. A day to just relax with her new friends.

But things don't always go according to plan.

Big Mac is a wise stallion. Growing up in a house full of mares he had learned that secret language that mares use. Though as good as he is, Rainbow Dash is not like any other mare out there; can he figure out her issue? Hot chocolate and snuggles always seem to help. Join Big Mac as he tries to get to the root of his fillyfriend's problem, or die trying.
