All her life, Twilight Sparkle has tried to be good, hard-working, and well-behaved. She's been told that's what she should strive to be, but what if she's missing out on the secret delights of being a rebel? A punk? A bad girl?

Following this train of thought, she concludes there's only one thing to do: an experiment.

And since she knows very little about rebelling, she'll need to find an expert to learn from...

Story idea pitched by Hopeful_Ink_Hoof in the Uncommon Dazzling Ships group.

Things rarely end well after you punch a journalist, even if you are a celebrity stunt flyer.

Finding herself suddenly alone and without plans on Hearth's Warming, Spitfire latches on to an offer from a friend to do a little favor for Princess Twilight; act as a bodyguard and escort for a very strange VIP while Twilight and some friends sort out a little friendship problem in another dimension.

Turns out this favor is a little more dangerous, and a lot more fun, than she expected.

(Sex tag is for lots of flirting and innuendo)

Broken magic. A broken home. Three once-Dazzlings still live under the same roof, but drift apart as the weeks following their defeat pass on.

One spirals downward. Another moves forward. And Aria collapses inward—to her head full of dreams, held down by a shattered song and doubts of her own self-worth.

One night, an unwelcome voice finds her and leaves her with a choice to be made.

Big thanks to Holy for editing and critique.
(And uh... thanks to Csquared08 for comma police. Don't laugh. It's more of a thing than you might think.)

As a note: This story's timeline is not in continuity with my others. Think of it as an AU to Open Door.

Hate.

It is a powerful force. It can burn through the laws of the heart. It can warp the best of minds. It can torture the purest of souls.

In the end... all it needs is just the right spark.

Written for FTP 9. Cover art by YogurtYard.

Trigger warnings: Swords used for warfare, with all associated slicey-dicey. Fish horses popping limbs off non-human monstrosities. Bone-breaking baddies. Lots of creatures going squish and/or exploding. Horrific transformations, the kind that Lovecraft had nightmares about. Oh, and saucy millennium-old teenage girls who occasionally skinnydip.

Two sets of eyes meet over a crowded dance floor. One belongs to the most famous sportswoman on the planet. The other, the most beautiful girl she’s ever seen.

Three hundred years ago, Adagio began an affair with a Count in Romaneia. His dark secret would forever alter her, giving her a taste for blood that could only be kept in check by the magic of her gem.

However, Adagio's gem now lays shattered, yet her hunger remains, growing more potent and ravenous with each passing night. It wasn't long before she made the choice to sate it in order to save herself.

The first kill was gruesome, the second a tragedy, the third a blur...

Now, she barely even acknowledges them.

Tonight marks her 25th victim.

Chapters VIII-XII are from a technically complete first draft, posted in hope of providing closure as I don't see myself properly finishing this story. Read at your own peril.

Who is Adagio? The immortal scourge of two worlds? The living embodiment of dangerous beauty and musical perfection?

Or is she a lost soul in need of a friend? A sister struggling to reunite her fractious family before it's too late?

...A strange girl who can't possibly be all the things she looks like?

It’s been a long time since the Battle of the Bands, and a lot has changed for Aria. One of the bigger changes has been Sunset Shimmer. The two of them were never supposed to happen, but they somehow still did.

Not that it matters. Nothing good ever lasts, not for Aria Blaze.

Note about content warning: Despite the suicide/ self-harm tag, no one dies or self-harms; the tag is for thoughts of those topics.
