I think you could have Ratity get away with rock type (gems and all) and maybe Flutershy would get away with being a normal type since that’s what usually has the most normal animal type Pokémon in it.

Now that you got me thinking about we need 8 gyms to make a leage. So you also need to characters close to the mane 6 to fill thouse slots. Spike could have a dragon type gym, but it would only be baby dragons (like swablu, dratini, or Gibble)

Starlight could have a gym in “her town”. The fight wouldn’t be one single type but instead focus on stat changing moves and items.

Gilda could be out in griffinstone with a fighting type gym with hawlucha as her kicker Pokémon.

Celestia, Luna, and Cadence feel like they’d be more part of the Ellete four...

I could probably go on and on if I let myself
