Now that we are firmly within spoiler territory again, this is a reminder to everyone about the spoiler policy.

First and foremost, MARK YOUR THREAD TITLE. If the title of the thread doesn't already contain the word 'spoiler(s)' then add it in brackets.

Secondly, DO NOT POST ANY VISIBLE SPOILERS IN YOUR OPENING POST. Fimfic dumps the content of your first post into peoples' group/blog feed without the need to click on the thread itself. That means ALL TEXT SPOILERS NEED TO BE HIDDEN VIA THE SPOILER TAGS and DO NOT EMBED IMAGES OR YOUTUBE CLIPS in your opening post. Later posts are just fine. If you are starting a thread and just HAVE to embed things, make your first post text only and immediately reply with the embed to keep it out of peoples' feeds.

Finally, there is already an official EQG Series spoiler thread. Please keep all discussion about the series in this thread.

Any threads in violation of this policy will be immediately deleted, no exceptions.

Bumping this thread to serve as a reminder about the spoiler policy. Keep any and all posts about the EqG series in the Spoiler Thread until each episode is officially released on youtube.

Additionally, any posts and any new threads containing spoiler material will result in an immediate ban which will last until the final EqG episode is released. Thank you in advance for your courtesy in this matter.

At this point in time, as far as we know, Equestria Girls and Sunset Shimmer will have no new movies, episodes, shorts, specials, or other such official material. This means that the "spoiler rules/courtesy" may no longer be relevant.

However, we're still part of the larger MLP fandom and folks will find ideas and a need to talk about new and upcoming material that may inspire them in some manner relevant to Sunset Shimmer. We welcome such conversations!

Just be courteous about it.

A lot of folks eagerly look for and observe promotional material. Some folks look for leaked material. Some other places on the increment discuss these things and those conversations indirectly spread this early material. Be mindful of what you post about here, as leaked material is forbidden by site rules.

Some folks don't care about spoilers. They don't mind if the see stuff from a movie or episode prior to watching it. These folks will possibly even seek out such things and get encouraged or hyped to watch the thing. This sort of person is welcome here too.

Here's the catch though. Some folks don't want to be spoiled. And what counts as a spoiler differs from person to person. But if looking at some pictures or reading a conversation will ruin or lessen the enjoyment of later watching a pony movie or episode, then their definition of what counts as a spoiler matters, not yours. You don't get to ruin the enjoyment of others and then declare that your definition of what counts as a spoiler means that other person is unreasonable. Insisting on this just so you can avoid a little hassle when you're all hyped up makes you the asshole and our rules are here to keep you from being a dick to others. Even when you don't think you're being one.

Don't worry, we're not asking much from you.

Be mindful of what you're posting. Keep in mind that you probably know more about it than others. That's why you're sharing it. Make sure it's an official thing and not leaked or illicetly gained material. Also, keep in mind what movie, episode, etc. it is related to. If that movie/episode/etc. is already officially aired or not. Especially things like teasers, trailers, and promotional stuff.

You can openly mention the title/name of the thing. You can openly mention when it is supposed to officially air. You can openly mention where to watch it on official platforms. For example, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic ep1. Or MLP:FiM S1E1. Or G4 first episode. You could tell us it will air October 10th, 2010 on The Hub.

Anything more than that could be spoilers. Even the above things could create spoilery conversations and discussions. So if some trailer comes out, the movie it's promoting has an air date. The air date is important to keep in mind. Because until we reach that date, be careful of spoilers. Stay mindful of spoilers for at least a week after it has aired.

If there are several air dates in different parts of the world, use the US air date. Simply to avoid confusion.

Now, in addition to being mindful about what you're posting, the courtesy we ask of you is that if what you want to post is a spoiler or you feel it could very likely create a conversation that dives into spoiler territory, just label your thread title. [Spoilers] is enough. [MLP:FiM S1E1 Spoilers] is better. Make the warning however you like, as long as it will alert people that like spoilers that your thread may be of interest to you and folks that don't want to be spoiled can make a decision to not click in.

Like I said, we're not asking much. If you find that this is too much for you, you're a dick. We'll take appropriate action. Because we'd rather have got not be a dick here and we'd rather your future victims enjoy their pony undamaged by your lack of consideration. That's much more important to us than indulging in your desire to be first to post some new hype.

Lastly, since official material for G5 is coming out, I expect people will want to make new threads. As usual, look to see if someone already has posted the topic you want to post about. Several very broad categories are already covered by this: we have a "story idea" thread; we have an image thread; we have a "looking for story" thread. Be aware of these places and post within them if they're appropriate instead of creating a new thread. Look through at least the first page of existing threads, not just the sticky ones, and see if someone beat you to the topic.

This probably doesn't need to be said, but only create threads about Sunset Shimmer. This is a specialized group, not a general MLP place. This isn't a chatroom. This isn't your blog. We're all here because we're fans of Sunset Shimmer and that's all you're going to find here.

I've unstickied the Gen 5 and EQG spoiler threads, so you can just consider this thread to cover those as well. Also didn't really think a specialized thread for EQG spoilers was necessary any more, as I find it highly unlikely we'll get more of them, unfortunately.
