The XM8, a rifle that was looked at by the US military to replace the M4.

It was one the first rifles they looked into that was composed of Polymer. Despite being a lovely looking weapon, they apparently had troubles with the polymer handguard melting after prolonged firing in hot climates.

The project was eventually dropped by Congress because of the price, if I remember correctly.
