I'm bringing this up here, since my (likely misplaced) thread about this on the official forums has yet to be answered.

Anyway, for a later project (once I'm done with my current one), I was wondering if I could do something like what Final Fantasy X did, where your player character on the field was always the main protagonist regardless of your party setup. Does anyone here know if/how this can be done?

Which version of RPG maker are you using? Because that will change the answer to either "No", "Kind of", or "Yes".

The most simple way is to turn off the extra party members showing up behind the leader so that there is only one character to show up, and then replace all characters world sprite with the main characters sprite (so no matter who is put in front, it always looks like the main character).
