This is a group dedicated to good OCs and the creative minds behind them! Whether they be a pony, gryphon, dragon, buffalo, or any other species within the FiM Universe, they're allowed in this group. Of course, your OC must meet the guidelines of good/interesting original character. If you're not sure if your OC is good enough, here's some characteristics that are used to make up a good OC:
Interesting: A good character is always interesting. If your OC has corks, a unique talent, odd hobby/habit, or simply an interesting story/personality trait, then it's probably going to be fun to read about.
Realistic: The character must be realistic in either our world or equestria. If he/she/it is too over-the-top to be realistic to meet in either universe, it probably doesn't fit into the "realistic" category.
Flawed: No character should be flawless. If your character has certain flaws (greedy, unintelligent, self-conscious, clumsy, emotionally unstable, ect.) then that would make them more interesting/relatable. Adding flaws to your characters makes them more enjoyable to read about and more realistic/interesting.
Qualities: If your OC has flaws, they should also have qualities (smart, funny, creative, optimistic, ect.). This too will make them more interesting and relatable for the reader. Remember; even the worst of us have a little good.
Relatable: The main reason people enjoy reading about characters is because in some way, we can relate to them. If the character relates to you, he/she/it will most likely related to others as well. We want to put ourselves into the shoes/hooves of the characters. If they don't go through problems/struggles/events we either go through, or wish we could go through, then it becomes more boring to your reader.
If your character has at least two or three of these traits, they're most likely a good OC, and if they have a story about them, go ahead and add it to the group. Please add your stories to all folders that apply!

Today I joined a bunch of OC groups but, right now, I'm especially interested in all of your opinion of my story because, as I looked across the guidelines of what constitutes a "Good" OC, I found myself check marking every single category with a yes. Then I discovered that you are all seeking only two or three of these traits, but seriously . . . mine has them all, or at least that's what I think. I would be very interested to see if all of you agree.
Actually, my story is mostly OC's because it mainly takes place before the start of the Friendship is Magic series, but it later has time travel elements as well because its a crossover of Doctor Whooves. At that point it earned its sci-fi category. Before that, I would most call it slice of life. Also, the main characters are OC's so I feel like this story fit your criteria in every possible way.

Could some of you perhaps help me with a question? See, I used to be a bit of a loner when it comes to writing and only recently decided to find out what the groups on FIMFiction have to offer. So… what usually happens in a group like this? I understand you can add stories to folders that correspond with the kind of story you have made. Can I do that right now or must I ask for permission? Should I announce my stories as well? Do you have any tips and tricks on how to make the most out of this group? I hope you can help me out. Thanks in advance!

Well! I saw a friend joined this group, and since my mane...main...however you say that story is also based around an OC, I thought it couldn't hurt to share. I can't be a judge of whether or not my own characters are good ones, but people seem to like them so far, so why not!

I'm a beginner (kind of) in the road of FIMFIC. And my OC, back in the day was ok, but seems the fandom nowadays has made a rule book for an OC to be "perfect"...

Um... first of. I admire people who have a huge number of OCs on their own and how they keep track. But I created mine back in 2011 when the fandom was still growing up, and back then there was no problem. But now seems any black and red is the sign of satan.
So I ask if I can post the details of my OC, and let you people judge?
