The idea came that there should be a Midnight Sparkle vs. the dazzlings story

Perhaps Midnight can team up with Demon Sunset to take on the Dazzlings at full power.

Though personally, I think either or can take them on, alone.

Even then (both at maximum power), I think it would be a curbstomp in Midnight Sparkle's favor. First, she's been exposed to Equestrian magic, making her immune to the Dazzlings' hypnosis. Second, she's a lone wolf by nature, so taking on an army of mind-controlled high schoolers all by herself would not throw her at all. But finally, and most importantly, the Dazzlings' powers are music-based mind control and what appears to be powerful but otherwise ordinary magic. Midnight Sparkle can open up transdimensional rifts at will. Not only does that give her instant teleportation anywhere in Equestria and the EG-verse, but there are a number of more creative uses for her portals. For example, if she opens up a portal beneath the Dazzlings, then closes it when they've fallen halfway through? Splat.
