Woah, A Contest!

Some basic information: the prize is $10 via PayPal, almost anything is allowed, and the deadline is December 14. Want to join? It's hosted by the new group Against Echoes.

Rules

The rules are pretty basic. Follow fimfic site rules, don't add a story that isn't yours, and don't add too many stories. Other than that, all bets are off. Add a fic you started a month ago and canceled if you feel so inclined. Completeness is not required. You can add a story that's anything from a series of nsfw vignettes to a grand E rated adventure story longer than FoE. Word count doesn't matter. However, if you add a huge amount of stories, don't be surprised if they're ignored.

Dates

As stated above, stories can be submitted to the contest folder starting now up until December 14. The winner will be announced a week later.

Feedback

Feedback consists of two sentences, one with the verdict (failed/decent/good/amazing) and the other with a short explanation. This group was made to promote stories with quick, speedy feedback generated by reading the first couple hundred to a thousand words of a story and giving a rough estimate of its quality. Any story in the contest folder is not assumed to be included in the general submissions folder, and all feedback directed to stories only in this folder will be given via PM, and not moved to the appropriate group folder. Note: If you have placed your story in both the contest and general submissions folder, your story's feedback will be withheld until the contest ends.

The Prize

The winner of the contest will receive $10. Remember, it's through PayPal. Do not enter if you cannot accept PayPal!

Other Stuff

6200206 What's the criteria to win? Is it honestly realistic to read the first 300 - 1000 words of a story for a fair verdict? Ten bucks isn't enough of a reward to submit a story that's had a lot of hard work put into it when people aren't going to read more than 1000 words for a verdict that doesn't fairly represent the story's overall quality.

If he wants to blow ten bucks let'm blow ten bucks. I can think of worse ways to try and promote your startup review group.

I'm also pretty sure the 90% will clamor for even the tiniest of praise, and happily flood the group with their everything. All for what amounts to an elaborate thumbs up.

Fair point it's his money he's blowing, but you'd think someone running a contest would flesh things out properly. Rules, criteria, guidelines, y'know, proper formality when it comes to an investment like this.

You're still thinking of it as a contest. Reread what I wrote.
