I've read spoilers about the finale.

Without watching it, I don't know how much will be incorporated into Changeling Space Program, or if I'll backtrack and rewrite some things, but obviously the finale's story can't happen in the CSP world as it stands. Too much has changed, and too much time passed, for what happened there to be possible in my story.

So, sometime soon, I guess I'll have to add the "Alternate Universe" tag to my fic. Whatever.

Yesterday I flew Mission 11. I'd been tinkering with it ever since I posted the last chapter, and I was afraid I'd have to break down and tweak the game to reduce atmospheric heating effects. I was failing one flight after another with the rig I wanted and needed to fly.

Finally I went into sandbox mode, added a battery to the flight, and had level 5 Jeb basically fly the re-entry on autopilot most of the way down, locked on retrograde, to prove it was possible.

Chapter Eight of Changeling Space Program is up, and I've done some editing to make sure the author's note, the images, and the formatting are up to scratch.

For a couple weeks CSP is going to go quiet, since I have other writing projects to put together. But I'll be starting a Patreon shortly, possibly before A-Kon, so you can see and encourage the other projects as well as CSP.

Anyway, if you've not yet caught the new chapter, do so.

Yesterday I rewrote the lyrics for the Flim-Flam song for use in the story.

The next chapter isn't going to be as big a monster as Chapter 7 (I think), but it's going to be pretty large.

And finally, since feedback on footnotes was more or less evenly split, I'm going to do what requires the least work out of me, which is to have the footnotes spaced out. That's the final decision.

I hope I can release the chapter before I hit the road for Mobicon, but no promises.

OK, seriously, I need feedback.

Some of you wanted me to space groups of footnotes throughout the chapters, at the end of each section they appear in. Others want the footnotes all at the end of a chapter.

So... which is it?

Going through the existing chapters and editing them for consistency of footnote placement is NOT FUN, so the next time I do it will be the last. I need to know which you prefer- scattered, or all at the end of a chapter?

I've just finished writing out Cherry Berry flying Mission 6.

Chapter 7 from the aftermath of Chrysalis's harebrained Mission 5 up until this point, plus the notes and mission reports for Missions 7 and 8 which also have to fly in this chapter, totals 13,078 words so far.

This is going to be a monster.

You know, when I started this project, I was expecting the chapters to be 2000-3000 words each.

Wut no.

I shouldn't have wasted time today on it with so much to do, but I just went into Kerbal Space Program and flew the missions and grabbed the screen-caps for the next chapter of Changeling Space Program.

I'll try to work on the thing tonight, but tomorrow is loading the van for my next dealer's booth at a convention, so the odds are good the chapter won't be posted until next week at least.
