Well, fortunately, in the opening months of VR hitting the gaming market, the actions of these VR companies (not gonna lie, mainly Oculus) has only pushed me farther and farther away from even wanting to try one of these things. A recent interview with Oculus dealing a lot with exclusives really rubbed me the wrong way.
VR exclusives. Think about that. Say Asus made a game, and then said, "Oh yeah, this is only going to be able to be played on our monitors."
And you know what? I'm shooting for the stars.
I have extended my Extra Life 2016 goal to $1,000. I'm honestly not sure if I can get that.
But if I can, I will give away two digital copies of Titanfall 2 live during the stream. One for Xbox One, one for PS4.
Nothing like incentives.
Hope to be a bit entertaining tomorrow.
(No worries, this is just to let you guys know that we ARE participating in Extra Life this year. You won't see this blog post again until November 5th.)

Alright, a little more than 'planning' stages.
More like 'stay up until 4am making a stream overlay' stage.
Here are the games I'm highly considering as well. There will likely be more, because we do want to try and go the full 24 hours:
Wow! We're 60% of the way there and just passed hour 6.
$200 more and you all have got me trying Joella's Fire In Da Hole chicken tenders!
Next up, Borderlands 2.
Last night, a single donation from a fellow Fimfiction reader and author, not only fulfilled my individual goal twofold, but also completed the goal I share as a team with Cobalt. And we're still three days out!
Welp, I know what I'm having for dinner.
Thanks once again to the incredible generosity of my readers, as well as friends and family on social media, I have met my $500 goal, at just 8.5 hours in.
I am thrilled, and also quite nervous, because now I have to do those Carolina Reaper chicken tenders at dinnertime.
So, for now, if you want to see some mediocrity in Halo, jump on in.
17 hours, not quite as long as last year, but to my very honest surprise, I met my goal again; a grand total of $1031 this year.
So now I have a Heatonist Hot Sauce box to order and a mock Hot Ones episode to plan.
Thank you everyone for tuning in and donating, wrap up post coming in the morning when I'm not half asleep!
Hey all, this blog is merely to gauge interest.
Brady and I are thinking about participating in Extra Life 2016, a non-profit charity marathon where gamers around the world play, or attempt to play, their game(s) of choice for 24 hours. Some players stream, some don't. This year it begins at 8:00 am on Saturday, November 5th.
I find myself very fortunate that I spent very, very little of my childhood in hospitals.
I've spent the past several years watching annual game-streaming charities like Extra Life, Child's Play, and the semi-annual Games Done Quick. This is the first year that I decided to participate, and I'm very thrilled to say we did a bit better than we initially thought we would.
Well, my second Extra Life charity stream is over.
And when I say that, I mean I'm just thinking about what games I want to attempt to play for 24 hours.
Last year was all Halo, and the tiredness really set in when I lost the last of my audience 21 hours in.
So maybe, maybe some Halo Infinite, if Season 5 brings Firefight, and we finally have the package we should have had at launch two years ago.
But that's not what I'm primarily looking at. What I'm considering this year is:
Side-scrolling platformers.
Any suggestions on what to play?
Borderlands? StarCraft? The Old Republic? Titanfall? Division 2?
I have a few months to think about it.
Five hours in, and we're at the second game!
Another Extra Life Game Day in the bag.
21 hours 51 minutes, certainly a personal record for a solo run.
Five Halo campaigns. I've never played that much Halo in one sitting before; not even during launch weekends.
Didn't finish Sonic Delta, but we're 4 hour in, and my streaming partner is joining me for some Brutal StarCraft II co-op, and we're nearly to $200.
Keep it going! Thank you so much!
Watch here:
So for this year's Extra Life, I'm going to be playing four Halo games back to back until I either finish or pass out.
So, should I let the cutscenes play, or skip them when allowed?
Extra Life 2023 Game Day is this Saturday, and as I've said before, I don't have a lot of hope for meeting my $1000 goal this year.
But nonetheless, I feel I should offer some sort of incentive for donors to help me get to that goal.
So, if I somehow get to $1000 this year, I will purchase the following:
