Howdy, y'all! It's the first of NaNo, and I wanted to wish all my fellow NaNo campers good luck! I know I'll for one need it... I hope to get a ton of writing done this month, but we'll see what happens! On a related note, I did push myself to finish the second chapter of Just a Pony today, so progress is... slow, but happening. Nothing more to say on that really, but other stuff under the cut.
1) I just ordered my BronyCon pass! I'll be going on Saturday of the convention. If you're there, hit me up and I'll love to hang out with you.
2) I just ordered a mic, headphones and a pop filter. You know what that means? I'm going to be making music soon! I have been waiting a long time to do this and I'll be able to achieve what I have been longing to do. Mixtape is gonna drop and your earbuds/headphones will be on fire!
Nas Is Like By Nas, Album (I Am...)
The Message By Nas, Album (It Was Written)
N.Y. State of Mind, Pt. ll By Nas, Album (I Am...)
Now that the insane goings on with Big Imagination E, are over, I'm back to my regularly scheduled song-a-day.
You've probably heard the song Loser before (and I know at least you have, Vertigo22) but this song is much different, even though it's by the same guy.
How, you may ask?
I don't know, Beck is just great at doing a wide variety of genres.
This is going to be an on-going series where I post a song I like every day, and there's no better way to start than by starting with a classic AZ song.
Rather Unique By AZ Album (Doe or Die)
The World Is Yours By Nas, Album (illmatic)
Oh boy am I excited to share this one.
So, to have heard of this band before, you basically have to be part of one of these three specific groups:
B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) By GZA (featuring Killah Priest) Album (Liquid Swords)
Family and Loyalty by Gang Starr, Album (One of the Best Yet)
Just a disclaimer: I'm pretty sure the song's not even supposed to be offensive.
(And this isn't a Parental Advisory warning or anything like that, but you'll see.)
Mongoloid by Devo. (From the 1978 album Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo!)
Mmmm...that drum intro...
Cover art explanation from our good friend Wikipedia :
Swamp rock. Seems like a weird name for a genre, but if you've heard of it at all, pretty much only one band really comes to mind.
(And even if you haven't heard of "swamp rock" you've surely heard a song by Creedence Clearwater Revival before.)
All hail Nightmare Moon.
Bad Moon Rising by CCR.
