An entry for the May Pairing Contest 2021

Sire's Hollow is a quaint little town not too far from Ponyville. Anon would never have any reason to set foot in the place were it not for his best friend, Sunburst, asking him for a massive solid:

Keep his mother, Stellar Flare, preoccupied for a few days while he conducts research on the town's recently discovered magical properties.

Sunburst loves his mom, and they've worked through their communication issues before, but as head of the Sire's Hollow Development Committee, she would never approve of the tests he intends to run. So, Anon will act as a "distraction," allowing Sunburst to get done before she notices.

He does a better job than either of them were expecting.

Twilight and her friends take a vacation for one week but they need to keep their school running during that time. So they decide to have their moms to take their jobs as teachers. They will give the Students Of Friendship the best week in such a long time.

Not long after Firelight visited Sunburst up in the Crystal Empire, Stellar Flare goes to visit Starlight at the School of Friendship so they can discuss Starlight's plans for the future. To put it lightly, the visit doesn't go as Stellar expected.

Successful mares who aren't princesses tend to be treated with double standards. The ice cold archetype of a mare who is so power hungry she gives up everything for her career is one, the stigma of single mothers not being enough for their children is another.

Stellar Flare has smashed all the stereotypes, and is proud of it.

Queen Chrysalis, after having collapsed outside of Sire's Hollow, is recuperating under the care of Stellar Flare. Consigning herself to play nice, lest the townsfolk become suspicious. She begins to gain a better understanding of the village and its denizens, in particular the middle aged unicorn who was gracious enough to help her. The Changeling finds the mare curious, to say the least, and attempts to gain her trust. After all, the pony would make a valuable ally.

Another piece of my Harmonyverse AU. Stellar Flare is Sunset's mother, making Sunburst her little brother; also among her siblings are Starlight Glimmer and Moondancer. Mostly takes place in the pony world. This is a quick description of the life that Sunset led before, during, and after the events of canon.

Includes Sunset (she/her) as a transgender lesbian with ADHD and anger management issues. Sunburst is also a transman along with his partners and Princess Celestia. Everybody is probably some form of m-spec, except Celestia, who is just really, really gay, and cannot stop mothering queer children. Trixie has ADHD and Sunset's cousin Short Fuse has anger issues, too. Pony! Trixie x Sunset romance. Warning! Shadowed as spoiler as not to accidentally trigger anyone. Transphobia and misgendering (POV of somebody who doesn't know their trans yet and doesn't know their sibling is trans, their correct pronouns are used by others refer to them with the wrong gendered titles; a character is called a "tranny" and wrongly referred as an 'it'), polyam-phobia and a whorephobic comment and forced outing (by a child but still), self-esteem issues and imposter syndrome, emotional child neglect/abuse, explosive episodes, "cheating" parents (or is it?), those general themes.
