An argument and a car crash leave one of the sirens--Adagio, Sonata, and Aria--dead. They know this because Death itself has shown up to chat with them and to ensnare Adagio into a game of wits with the very lives of her companions at stake. Adagio doesn't want anyone to die, but she's not so happy with the way they've been arguing so much lately either...

An EQG story. Absolutely no connection to The Years of Ar and S.

Feeling a little down and deciding to go on a walk around Canterlot, Adagio Dazzle reflects on the past months since the Dazzlings' defeat at the Battle of the Bands. It's not really so bad, except for the fact that everyone in town still holds a grudge for what she and her fellow sirens did at CHS those months ago.

Everyone except for the Rainbooms, of course, but Adagio isn't exactly keen on having them teach the magic of friendship quite yet.

It's only when she runs into Sunset Shimmer later in the evening that Adagio realizes that the start of a true friendship is exactly what she needs to brighten her mood.

Chrysalis takes cover in a cave after another disastrous run-in with the ponies. Inside is another unfortunate soul who just can't catch a break.

Everyone has secrets. Sometimes they tell people about them, sometimes they don't. Even after hundreds of years, there are still things Adagio hasn't told Sonata.

When Sonata finds a book full of Adagio's secrets, she just can't resist reading it.

Sunset Shimmer answers a knock on her door one day to find Adagio Dazzle standing on the other side of it. When she inquires as to the reason for the Dazzling's unexpected visit, Adagio answers by saying she's in need of her socks.

But why?

Adagio has lost all direction and ambition in her life and is constantly sliding in and out of depression. After yet another sleepless night, she visits her favorite coffee shop to think about what she really wants.

One night Sonata comes home in a love-struck daze, and Adagio decides it's up to her to figure out who (or what) has caught her fellow Siren's fancy.
