The world is strewn with the ruins of lost kingdoms. A wise monarch knows how to preserve her realm for posterity, but it's hard to have a posterity when you're childless, and too old to be laying eggs. Old hens shouldn't have these sorts of problems, but they are hers, as is Trottingham until her time runs out.

But Gharne has a plan. If only she can trap the ponies' eternal princess inside of her web.

A duchy might live forever, if its duchess did the same.

Nobles have long held sway over Equestrian culture. They are the trendsetters, the heads of the pack. Simply the way they speak can influence language. When they create compliments, similarly-phrased praise spreads throughout the nation. When they implement insults, ponies create situations for those insults to be used. One insult, in particular, has gone down in history as especially infamous.

I'm talking about butts and the photocopying thereof. This is still Equestrian nobility, after all. It's complicated. And stupid. Mostly stupid.

Which means Twilight and Applejack can use just that time in the griffon nation to -- play tourist! Check out some of the local attractions! It was a typical day in Griffonstone for Gilda and Greta, just trying out some fresh Griffon scones when their other friend Gabby arrives after being away for a few months.

Nothing was out of the usual, at least until the two discovered Gabby was carrying a baby with her. Not just any baby, but a dragon baby, and she says she's its mother.

This just leaves Gilda and Greta with a few uncomfortable questions they feel they cannot avoid.
