This story is a sequel to Misconception
After the events of Misconception, Rarity has decided to reject Applejack, fearing a rocky and confusing relationship, over a "smoother" relationship with Spike. AJ, still desperate for the love of the unicorn she's wanted for so long, decides to make a brave move and call upon the help of the pony who started the entire mess in the first place: Rarity's father, Magnum.
Then, finally, Rarity's decision will be made clear. Right?

It would seem to me that Rarity is committing a very... bad blunder, let`s say.
Given the lead-up to this situation, she`s trying to start a romance with Spike for all the wrong reasons. This will end up in tears.
I don't know why but I feel that I'm gonna be sorry for spike by the end of the story, as much I'm sorry for Applejack now

you're kind of jumping the gun a bit, you've barely finished this one (I hope) and you've already planned a third, this will be even shorter than my trilogy

There will be roughly five to six chapters on this one, and since I have already planned out how it ends, all I did was make the title and main character for the third one. I'm still working out the details of the plot.
As good as this chapter was, the reference to Applejack is episode 1 of the series when she shook Twilight's hoof so hard she was left shaking thin-air for numerous seconds completely made it for me.
It's a nice nod the show and also a pretty darn good joke.
That being said, I really enjoyed this chapter. Applejack would be acting the way she should be about this and Rarity seems to be reacting in a way like her too.
I'm looking forward to Spike's appearance in the story though. I wonder how AJ will react to him.
For some reason, the idea of a sequel after this sends me a bad feeling that Sparity won't survive. But even if my favorite shipping doesn't survive in this trilogy, I'll still read this 'cause I enjoyed Misconception. I see two possible endings in this story. Rarity learns that she has affections for Applejack and apologizes to Spike or Rarity rejects Applejack again and then Applejack learns that there's more fish in the sea and that one rejection isn't the end for love. Just my opinion.
Edit: I kinda think Applejack is being a little selfish here without thinking about Spike's feelings.

TO ALL: I want you to know that the outcome of this trilogy is a very hard decision for me to make, seeing as I love Rarijack and Sprarity equally. So just know that I don't prefer one over the other and am not trying to bash anyone's ship! This is just the way the story turns out!

I've yet to see a Sparity say anything bad about Applejack beyond the fact that's its kind of a dick move to try and break up someone after they turned you down. The sheer hypocrisy in everyone of your posts so far is delightful.

Maybe she does... But as she's madly in love with Rarity AND that Rarity seems to be unsure about her feelings... I guess that's normal that she tries.
Plus, since she considers Rarity's actions as a kinda unfair to her, she doesn't really stop to think about Spike's feelings at the moment; which, given the situation, I find normal despite being a tad mean for Spike.

so, when rarity told everyone she was dating spike, applejack's first thought should have been about rarity dating a boy, but instead she instantly only thought of him as a dragon. applejack, you racist. at first i for rarijack but now " grabs sparity chain" it's time for sparity!. I hope when applejack sees spike he give her the "I took you mare" look, then unleashes his long tongue and wiggles his fingers In her face, symbolizing that he can please rarity in ways she cannot even fathom.
My only issue so far is that I have a hard time believing that rarity would crush aj by saying in front of everyone that she was going with spike....then again as ur pointing out....she is maybe trying to convince herself more than the others....we have yet to see what spikey wikey thinks lol...hmmm imma fave to see where it goes but I am not a sparity fan so if they end up together lol there better be a damn good story as my consolation lol :) keep up the good work!

Man, Rarity is, like, MAD insensitive in this story.
Which is fine, I could definitely see her interpreted that way, it's just a bit surprising. If I was Applejack, I woulda told her to buck off and find the shells herself with the way she's acting.
Guess there wouldn't really be a story then, though.
Earlier, even as a Sparity supporter, I felt kind of bad for Applejack. Now not so much.
I'm not sure of which ship side I am on. Both have their reasons and faults.

I'm uncertain about Rarity, however. Misconception didn't really show that she had any romantic feelings at all for Spike from what I read and yet here she is in a relationship with him. I know that it is because she is unsure of how to react but her stringing him along isn't fair for Spike.
Applejack also seems slightly out of character for me. I wouldn't really portray Applejack to be as determined to win Rarity's heart over where she is ready to go on a three-day gem hunting trip to prove, I think she would be more respectful for her and Spike and wait it out instead of practically ready to do anything to make sure Rarity was hers.
However this can't end well from what I see. Someones heart is going to be broken horribly and it will near impossible for things to turn out right. Be it Applejack for being rejected by the mare she loves or be it Spike for being dumped after being strung along for a quick ride of the Sparity ship.
Nonetheless I await the next chapter anxiously.

If that's all it takes, then our little dragon has been doing better than many would've thought. He's been doing more favours than her own sister.
If she did that, she'll lose at least 3 friends:
(smacking someone for a reason they don't know has that effect), 
(she'll confront dragons if they harmed Spike) and by proxy 
(she's practically his sister... and a damn powerful one too). Good thing she had more sense... for now.

Screw it, I'm rooting for AppleSpike. But if I had to vote between Applejack and Spike for Rarity, I'd say Spike. He has been fighting for her for years, he deserves it.
