Total Stalemate

Tap. Tap. Tap.
“What about the river to the left, could we try-- No? Damn.”
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
“The mountains! We could sneak Pelicans through the passes and-- Swarming with Dragons? Son of a bitch.”
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
“Stealth forces. Under cover of night they would sneak into enemy cities and then-- You’re right, we wouldn’t be able to get them out and they wouldn’t be able to do much damage.”
Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap. Tap.
“ODSTs!! We could drop them literally right into-- Oh, right, we wouldn’t be able to get them out without getting spotted by dragons.”
Taptaptaptaptaptaptap.
“Well Goddamnit, Excalibur, we gotta think of something!” Adam Kuyaki declared, taking his hand from his desk in his quarters, ceasing rapping his fingers against it. He had sat in the room for the past hour, thinking over plans of attack with Excalibur, to no avail.
“Sir, in layman’s terms; we are currently screwed. I suggest finding a way to drain the Equestrians of supplies until they surrender” the AI suggested.
“Hmm, what’s the ammo count for our weapons?”
“The MAC currently has seven rounds. Archer pods C7 through Z9 are intact, leaving us with a little over 1,000 missiles. Hyperion count is four” the AI explained.
“And Shiva?” Adam asked, leaning back in his seat and putting his boots up on the desk.
“Sir, I believe the technical term is ‘overkill’. Nonetheless, we have three SHIVA tactical nukes.”
“Excal, comb over the Equestrian cities for valuable strategic targets for the nukes. Let me know what’s up” Adam stated, getting up from his seat to head to the bridge.
“Again, sir, I believe--”
“Just do it, Excalibur.”
“Complying.”

Dink. Dink. Dink.
“So Manehattan is down, Cloudsdale is crippled, and the humans have pushed on the absolute edges of the Kingdom. There aren’t many more cities in the way of their onslaught. Fillydelphia, Ponyville, Canterlot” Princess Celestia declared to her sister.
“Aldurmaax and his dragons are fighting bravely, but I believe the humans will make a breakthrough soon. It’s just a matter of when” Luna replied. “Aldurmaax is demanding that all who can walk and fly fight for the honor of Equestria. The mating parties keep producing dragons but at the incredibly slow rate they age it will be decades before any one of the newborns are ready to fight.”
“There’re still plenty of dragons around to fight the humans, at least. We don’t need replacements yet” Celestia said.
Dink. Dink. Dink. Dink.
“The good news though is that Aldurmaax and his dragons pushed the humans back from Cloudsdale, giving what remained of her population time to evacuate. The city was absolutely wrecked, though. It’ll take the Pegasi years to rebuild it all” Luna stated.
“Hehm, maybe they’ll update the architecture” Celestia humorlessly joked.
The Princess of the sun stopped tapping her hoof against the marble and tucked it under her prone body, curling up. It was a little cold in her room, and the fireplace could only help so much.
“You think we're losing this war, don't you?” Luna asked. “Do you think we’re--”
“I know we’re losing, Luna... I just want to know if we’ve lost.”*

Thud. Thud. Thud.
“I believe they call it a stalemate” Aldurmaax declared to his shrampe; diminutive assistant, as they lamented the war.
Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.
“De’mah will guide us, won’t he? There’s still hope, right?” the shrampe asked.
A dragon of unquestioning faith Aldurmaax rested his busy talons and looked up at the shrine to De’mah in his throne room, silently wondering if the God really would help them in the end.
“I believe he will.”
So launch the Tactical Nukes and I hope some of the dragons Explode them prematurely in front of the main Vessel.
3573643 No. screw you, OP magic lover.
3573672 precognition kid, Pony magic can Explain it. or just have a few pony's go back in time to warn the princesses of the incoming nuke Missiles. or have Celestia Go through a vision of the missile hitting the city and frying Everything within view. then Counter it with a well thrown boulder breaking it's trajectory.
Honestly I'm surprised the humans Haven't tried Overrunning the Pony's with a Blitz kreig of Warthogs and marines.Oh wait they don't have the man power to do it. Though the covenant should arrive soon enough as far as I can tell and choose to break the stalemate or turn the tide of the war.
Then you can scream at me about OP covenant Tech.
3573690 .....I'm sorry kid. We couldn't save you in time....DAMN YOU, O.P.A.A.F.M.S!
O.P.A.A.F.M.S
You're making very little sense, what does a chemical compound have to do with being damned?
nukes are remote detinated sothe dragons cant make them explode and this is like 1000 years in the future so the nukes can probably blow up half the planet.
3573734 It's an acrynom for a syndrome I named.
3573690 Aside from the fact that the Nuclear missiles would probably just maneuver around said rocks, and that without the detonation code they'd be about as dangerous as paper weights, I don't see rocks prematurely detonating the nukes. And they could have the Shiva (or Shivas?) fly out of the atmosphere and come back down onto their target. No dragon is going to catch that.
And really, the only way the dragons could stop a nuke launching would be to get right in front of the launch tube, and melt (despite the fact I think the dragons fire is severely OP) nuke, causing it to possibly explode. At that point, it would be a matter of chance whether they detonated or not, but I'm sure you'll come up with some stupid magic trick that would make them explode.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to more, but don't say stupid things like rocks stopping nukes, because that is extremely improbable. Have a good day.
3573739 which means the humans wouldn't want to do that unless they don't mind Wiping out their allies as well, though I don't think a Destroyer would have planet busting nukes like the NOVA Bomb, and from what I've read the Shiva Nuclear device was used more for tactically disabling Enemy Electronics more than destroying their ships.
Though the shiva can be disabled by a well placed hit by a concentrated lazer or being broken midflight.
3573784 and what does the Acronym stand for?
3573822 I agree. The dragon's fire is retardedly OP.
3573823 Overpowered As All Fuck Magic Syndrome
3573822 Okay I'll admit I was pulling stones out of my head with that thought, but honestly I had to read up on the weapon and figure out how the covenant countered the nukes. As for magic, well if the nukes go into orbit before dropping back planet side... I wonder if the princesses wither move the Celestia Body's or the rotation of the planet itself. if its the former they could probably change the landing destination for the nukes as they get closer, however if its the later. not really gonna help.
Also I guess the pony's won't have any time to counter the Nukes and I guess the only thing the princesses can do in the situation is if they are warned about their impending doom, they can Teleport out of the blast Zone.
3573848 Only because its malleable, and can be fitted to many tasks we humans could only dream of. also immediately Site to Sight Teleportation like seen in the show if done via worm hole or molecular deconstruction then reassembly would require massive amounts of power. Try This chapter about a little more than half way down it gets to a Dridune Scientist who you'd probably get along with, who is contemplating how a teleport can be pulled off by a single living creature, without needing a Fusion reactor, guidance system, and signal transmitter.
Now immagin that amount of power being used in a purely tactical combat situation.
Magic is scary cheap because it is OP as all Hell. if it had a Tactical definition it would be Glass cannon in combative circumstances.
3573846 Same with napalm and fusion reactions, but we still have those.
3573939 People that think like you just make me so angry...
3573967 Why does it piss you off soo much? is it because we Explit it's theoretical advantages or the fact that we keep trying to make it up as some super Technology suppression device? I mean come on, a unicorn is still heavily vulnerable to infantry fire, and dragons can be taken down by spartans or gryphons if Enough of them charge at once with Weapons that can Actually pierce dragon scales. it's just as foolish to actually believe that you're precious Leviathan of the sky can survive and Defeat Everysingle Obstacle in it's path. Otherwise the covenant would have been on the loosing side of the war from the beginning rather than the UNSC.
A good team of snipers in chameleon armor can take down the princesses and win the war prematurely. when it comes to fighting enemy's with superior armor, it is prudent to take them out by attacking the joints which should be vulnerable since the armor their should be thin to allow for mobility, in the middleages before we had guns that could pierce metal armor, the most common way to kill a sword wielding opponent was to slice their limbs off or stab them either in the neck or in the armpit where the armor was lacking in protective plating. Same goes for the dragons. in fact We have our own pseudo Dragons now with the new Dragon Skin armor designed by the military, all we need is a napalm flame thrower attached to a mouth piece trigger, with a tube leading to the fuel tank. then we'll have fire spitting humans with Superior bullet resistant armor, firing Machine gun rounds into Civilian lines to prove how badass we are.
3573739 A Shiva Nuke is a mostly ship-to-ship weapon but can be put on interceptors, what can mess a planet up is the NOVA bomb. It is called "The Planet Cracker" for a reason.
3573739 500 actually, but your point still applies.
