Alaborn

Somewhere in the USA. Probably older than you. And something about MLP:FIM makes me want to write stories. Unfortunately, being gainfully employed cuts into my writing time.

An energy drink that doesn't taste like the south end of a north-facing chemical plant? I see the Crusaders have opted for the Rainbow Dash "do the impossible" school of mark acquisition.

In any case, a fun slice of life and a nice callback to Zipporwhill's Secret. Also, I'm not sure if Apple Bloom's gifts lie more in food chemistry or in marketing, given how she convinced her siblings and organized the publicity stunt. Maybe it's both...
(Also, I now want to see a pony named Publicity Stunt. Maybe he's Trixie's agent. :trixieshiftright:)

Most entertaining. Thank you for it. :scootangel:

4339195 We know from Apple Bloom's first attempt to get a cutie mark that her talent is not in selling alone. But she is good at making things. Occasionally, these things don't threaten the existence of Ponyville and its residents.

Mark my words, there is tree sap in that drink somewhere... :pinkiehappy:

4342760 Tree sap is permanently a part of the Crusaders. It has worked its way into their DNA.

“Yeah, yeah, Ah know.” Apple Bloom turned to her friends. “You almost destroy Ponyville one time, ONE TIME, and nopony will let you forget it!”

Pretty sure it's been more than just one time, Applebloom. :pinkiehappy:

Pinkie Pie smiled even wider and pulled out a large sack from nowhere, one much like a pony holding up a bank would use. “Now pay up!”

Never doubt the Pinkie Sense.

I rarely drink energy drinks. It's like they're deliberately made to taste as artificial as possible.

Usually, that's because they pack a boatload of B vitamins into them, along with the caffeine and such (the B vitamins are supposedly good for energy as well), and that's where the characteristic "vitamin pill" flavor mostly comes from.

Monster, Red Bull, and their imitators do tend to taste a lot like someone dissolved a bottle of Flintstones multivitamins in a bottle of fizzy gatorade, to be sure. :pinkiesick: That being said, if you can find the "Xyience" brand of energy drinks in your area, though, the cherry-lime flavor actually isn't bad at all. (The "cran-razz" cranberry/raspberry flavor is also reasonably good, but stay away from the weirder ones like "blue pomegranate." :rainbowhuh: ) They've either reduced the amount of B-complex vitamins so the taste isn't as strong, or they've hit on a successful combination of flavorings that covers it up. I just wish it was easier to find; there's only a couple of stores in my immediate vicinity that carry it, and they're always out of the cherry-lime... :raritycry:

4342972 It's amazing that substances added in amounts measured in milligrams, or even micrograms, would have that much of an impact on flavor.

This sounds like a fic with an abundance of Shenanigans. I like SHenanigans. I shall enjoy reading this later

I've tried Red Bull once. It sorta woke me up for about....2 minutes. :twilightoops:

Caffeine makes me sleepy. :derpytongue2:

4343911 I consume enough caffeine that I don't really notice any effect.

I do drink energy drinks every so often, but I am definitely picky about them. I'm all about taste on them as they pretty much all have the same effect on me. Also I stay away from the small bottle stuff, if I'm gonna pay for one, it better be enough to help with thirst too. My favorite I've ever had was the fruit punch flavor of Venom, although that brand is becoming impossible to find in my area. I can drink Full Throttle, but I definitely advise going for the blue agave flavor if it is available.

I don't drink energy drinks often, but when I do, I prefer Applestar.
Stay Pony my friends.

Haha a Nice little story. I love energy drinks but I only drink the tasty ones.
Good job :ajsmug:

I want to say that it is well written... BUT

“Then what is it? Chemy?” Scootaloo asked.

Chemy... I think you meant chemistry? :ajbemused:

For the rest it is ok. :pinkiehappy:

4713728 Scootaloo doesn't know the word chemistry, so when she was trying to figure out the word for non-magical alchemy, she lopped off the "al" and came up with "chemy." :scootangel:

She's not a dictionary. :unsuresweetie:

Nice plot twist at the end!

Your sisters are paying for it!

:rainbowlaugh:

Pinkie Pie smiled even wider and pulled out a large sack from nowhere, one much like a pony holding up a bank would use. “Now pay up!”

HA, typical Pinkie Pie:rainbowlaugh:!

This was a cute and funny one shot:heart:! Glad to see that the CMC didn't destory the town for once:twilightsmile:. Though, I would admit that it would make it all the more funny:raritywink:!

I don't drink caffeine at all...But this was a really neat alternative to the canon Cutie Mark Story!

“I know the ad says it gives you wings, but that’s not the problem,” Sweetie Belle said, poking one of Scootaloo’s diminutive wings.

Zecora taught her about a Zebrican plant called guarana, and Apple Bloom had learned about the beneficial properties of ginseng from Twilight Sparkle.

Actually, it's (IRL) Brazilian, apparently.

But I'm not sure how I can make a pony pun of that.

Apple Bloom sighed. “Not yet. Ah’ve got the strange ingredients in the drink, but Ah have no idea how to add caffeine to it.”

Fun fact: Guarana contains 3.5%-5.8% caffeine by weight. Coffee beans have around 2%.

Just say it's from the Amarezon.

When you're feeling run down, You need get up and go Which Applestar provides for sure! You'll be flying high Like a star in the sky Applestar, break the status quo! Apple power Keep on shining! Apple power Applestar, break the status quo!

Excellent song.

Applestar! Soaring through the sky! Living life on the fly! Never leaves you high and dry! Applestar! Applestar!

But I'd drink an Applestar.

If it was home produced and sold by cute filles? I'd definitely consider it.
