This story is a sequel to The Lunar Apprentice
Celestia won. Her Royal Guards defeated Nightmare Moon and her army of rogue Lunar Guards. The Shadowbolts were driven underground, and the Lunar Apprentice is dead. And what has victory brought?
Hell.
The Elements of Harmony are separated and useless. The renegade forces of the New Lunar Republic are hidden in the shadows, free to move and strike at will. Confidence in Celestia's rule has been shaken throughout Equestria. Half the Royal Guard is out of commission, and the changeling army is on its way.
Every loose thread is being pulled on; it's only so long before the tapestry unravels.
Celestia may have won the battle, but she also unleashed the Night Terrors. And Equestria may not survive them.

Huzzah, an update! As always, I love reading another chapter of this story. It seems Rainbow and the Shadowbolts have adopted a very interesting hideout. Nothing like a round of beers to celebrate the impending fall of an enemy. Can't wait for what follows!

Sorry but this chapter has SEVERELY weakened the story. Dash should have either died, or accidently ascended.

this made her teleport due to her not being able to stay in the beam in case it failed

Hm, main events of Epilogue "The Lunar Apprentice" take place after 2 days since Battle for Canterlot.
My theory that at the moment when Dash disappeared she spontaneously teleported pretty far from Canterlot and when she at last find Luna and Shadowbolts, everypony think that Rainbow dead.
And I think that after her last meeting with Mane5, Dash of course see them as enemies, because they choosed Celestia over Luna and become traitors in her eyes.

This is very nicely done, and I wonder where the changelings are gonna come in to place and how.
You can have some wonderbolt vs shadowbolt combat maybe and I don't know if you have the time to read it all, but I recommend calm wind's stories. It all takes place in the same timeline and the soarindash stories have some shadowbolt action, but I think you should at least read it until halfway/two thirds of flying sky-high to get some facts about what calm wind made of the shadowbolts. But I'll see what you are going to do with this story.

6317801 maybe they're working together? you have to admit that the timing of it all is very convenient. not to mention that it's the kind of subtlety that Luna seems to favor. an old enemy once again manages to infiltrate the royal family, using the princesses niece, who uses the captain of the guard as a puppet. that would be crushing.
either something like that, or Luna knows about the changelings, and has already created countermeasures for them. i doubt the changelings are aware of the grand design behind the 'terrorist attacks,' so that would make Luna the one holding all the cards.
