Mr Darcy

Just a guy who likes ponies.

When the enigmatic Lyra Hoofstep arrives in Ponyville, nopony makes much of her. After she befriends Lyra Heartstrings however, strange events begin to unfold. Soon, Twilight Sparkle finds herself caught up in a quest for knowledge that may be better left in the dark.

And that's that. This is my first fanfiction, so I would definitely like some feedback. In particular, I was trying to imitate the style of H.P. Lovecraft, and I want to know if I succeeded. Other comments and suggestions are welcome, of course.

I've just finished reading Chapter 4, and I have to say, it's going quite well. I would continue reading, but I have things I must do.

So far, it does seem very much like the Lovecratian works I've seen. Then again, most of the Lovecraftian works I've seen have been written by him.

Also, how bad is it that I've read his works before going to bed, and I'm reading this before taking a logic test?

Nyarlathotep abhors your logic, so it's probably a bad idea to read this before a test on the subject. :P

I don't care if this is your first story r you hundreth tale, you can't make a story where all is going to be destroyed and there is no hope or time for living if you don't put a plot behind it. And an evil monster nopony knows about will destroy everthing is not a a plot.

Welcome to the world of H.P. Lovecraft, mate. I understand it's not for everyone and I honestly don't care for this story myself, looking back on it. But in Lovecraft's fiction, hopelessness and unexplained weirdness is the order of the day.

I approve of this ending and general storyline, you managed to capture the feeling of lovecraftianism quite excellently.

Bravo, I shall now commence the favouriting and vote approvingly of this.

Thank you kindly, sir. :D

What could I do in the face of such cosmic horror? How could I face a being such as Lyra Hoofstep, who commanded the loyalty of maddening creatures of darkness and monstrous pipers of the void, and who served the one known as Azathoth?

I would think that the obvious thing to do would be to contact the princesses.

Love it. You captured lovecraftian writing style masterfully well. This deserves way more views, bravo sir.

Good story but... Teleportation maybe?

It says you haven’t been around since March of 2014, but if you still get email notifications, I hope you see this one. Just from the first chapter alone, I can tell that this story is very well written and emulates the Lovecraftian style of writing very closely. I’ll devour this fic and mourn that you didn’t create any others.

Absolutely fantastic so far. The Lovecraftian style and the prose is excellent.

More heartfelt than most Lovecraftian stuff, but I think that’s the MLP part that’s wrenching my heart.

This story is a testament to good pony adaptations of the Lovecraftian genre. It’s a true crime that it hasn’t received more views. I hope you the best of luck in your writing endeavors, even if they do not bring you back to this site.
