More than 1000 years ago, something catastrophic happened that would change the course of Equestrian history forever. A young Princess, angered by injustices committed against her, will give in to her jealousy and rage and be transformed into a Nightmare.
This is a tale you will not find in any history books. This is a tale of betrayal, sorrow, and so much bloodshed. The unsetting moon was not a singular event. It was a war. An ashamed Princess Celestia had censored and altered the tale so that, whenever her sister did return, she would not immediately be hated.
This, however, is the true story of Nightmare Moon.

Smaller numbers can be written - or typed- out. Its when you start dealing with larger, and more confusing numbers, that you would want to put them in their actual numerical form.

Interesting, I was always yelled at when I would put numbers down in their numerical form outside of a math class. My English professor in my first year of college actually threatened to kick me out of her class for "Writing like a Second Grader," when I did something similar.
Though things do vary from Nation to nation, and even town to town. But hey, this is coming from somebody who lives in a Country that still hasn't converted to the Metric System yet.

I grew up in California, and was taught that small numbers (0-10) should be written, while large numbers should be left as numbers.
Example: Three ponies ate 125 pancakes.
This makes sense, because writing one thousand six hundred twenty three is much harder than writing 1623.
Damn... That was really intense. I kept expecting Tia to fall back and use her Deo Sex Machina, but it never came. She never used the Elements of Harmony to end the fight. Nightmare just kept pushing. I'm pleased that both Alicorns took damage, the fight felt very realistic, with each princess using slightly stlyes. Tia is so used to being immortal, untouchable, she wasn't ready to take the blade to the chest. She didn't know how to lose. I don't hate Celestia, but she has a few flaws I don't like.
Now Nightmare Moon has won. Her eternal night shall commence. The ponies who ignored her will have to adapt to her rule... Or perish. Celestia has been left powerless and at the edge of death. Her mistakes have destroyed her.
Are you going to continue this story? It's actually kinda cool seeing Nightmare Moon winning, though I'm glad she didn't kill Celestia outright. No regrets or love linger in Luna's shattered mind. How will she treat the ponies now? Will they freeze or starve?
Poor Celestia. Alicorns doesn't have so much energy. One spell from Chrysalis was enough to defeat Celestia. You have overpowered them too much.
You say true story but we saw true story in the begining of season 4. It's interesting that people give Celestia pink hair. She never had pink hair. Her multicolored main is her natural color.

I am still waiting for some logic in this fiction. Behaving of Luna doesn't make sense. In the show she was possesed by Nightmare, but here she has hundreds or thousands years of experience and she behaves like little foal.

This is by far my favorite fiction of Nightmare Moon!
Although dark isn't exactly my favorite read of fiction, but this one fails to disappoint! I like how the rebellious forces have their own clothing to symbolize their undying loyalty to the sun, and how they grow stronger. But perhaps the thing I love about it is the portrayal of Celestia, the little spirit and mind that is now Luna, and Nightmare Moon! Nightmare Moon has to have faults just like Celestia does, and you incorporate that very well. I look forward to the next chapter!

This story deserves so much more recognition than this. While it is very gory and brutal, it is by far the best story about how NMM came to be that I have ever read. I've always wanted to find some good story about it because it is something that interest me greatly but everything I've read so far has just been unsatisfying.
