Archmage Ludicrous

Tiny humans. You are small. I crush. Crush like bugs. Voltswagon Bugs. Smaaaallllll.

When Rarity disappeared during her visit to The Deep Cold, she was thought dead. Yet she returned, malnourished, frostbitten, injured, and hysterical.

Now, well over a week after she's returned from the hospital, Rarity still hasn't said anything about what happened to her. Rarity survived The Deep Cold for more contiguous time than anyone in all of recorded history, but it's still in question as to whether she'll ever fully recover.

Well, certainly an intriguing start. Not sure what to think yet overall; all three chapters feel somewhat prologuey given the story description.

Dozens of gems, glittering a brilliant-blue white. Enough to make me the richest pony in all of Equestria.

Really? Just that and you're richer than Celestia? Methinks thou hast gone a little cuckoo for cocoa puffs there Rare-bear.

It was a little freeing to not have to apply myself so vigorously to my hair every morning, and I enjoyed the cheerful bounce it had when I shifted about.

Pinkie? What are you doing here? This is a Rarity story.

Wow, lazy eye? Just how fucked up did those crystal things and the cold make rarity exactly?

Hmm, hopefully something happens soon. Not really much of a story if there's no plot after all.

I bet Rarity shuts down at the concept of winter now.

Dressmaking, for now, was more hobby than business.

Tell that to Canterlot Boutique there, Rarity.

Maybe if Twilight had wings, it would work?

So when is this set exactly?

I selected my words slowly, feeling them fall out of my mouth like big boxes, and curving around the spaces in between. "Are you sure this is really necessary, though?"

Rarity, you're having ptsd flashbacks, it's fucking necessary.

I'm liking this story a lot. I really enjoy how Rarity's character is almost a complete 180 from her normal personality. She wakes up sweaty and stinky in bed, but doesn't really mind it much. She's closed the Carousel Boutique because she's lazy and doesn't need money. She still likes making dresses, but they can always wait till later, because what's the rush? She gets lost in her own inner monologue and isn't nearly as observant as normal Rarity.

I can't tell if it's the money that's driving her to be lazy or her experiences in the Deep Cold that makes her desire constant comfort. Maybe both. I love it, though; it really shows that this experience has changed her drastically, but not in the insane, paranoia-ridden kind of way in which these kinds of characters are usually written. Sure she has flashbacks, but she carries conversation and her traumas don't seem to be on her mind unless if they're forced onto her. Looking forward to more!

Wow. I love this. It's like if Sweetie Belle and Coloratura got together to make a piano/singing album.

This is set pre-Twilacorn era, and also pre-Discord.

Not gonna lie, but if I was one of the mane cast I'd probably be out for proverbial blood.
