Its setting up well, maybe just a little rushed, you could add a little more back story about shadow before going into the romance itself?
and maybe a little more on what exactly happened to ditzy's father, readers often won't want to be left hanging in these sort of conditions with no sign of any info in the future. Although I like how you compared them together musically, I've always been a sucker for music though. I'd give it a 7/10 lets keep it going and try to put some more filler and maybe a little bit slower with the whole immediate romance thing.
