An alternate take on the ending of Episode 24: Owl's Well that Ends Well
Driven away from home by jealousy and loneliness, Spike finds himself in the cave of a rather large dragon. However, instead of attacking, the great beast takes him under his wing, teaching him to become a proper, vicious dragon, filling the emptiness left by his friends with rage. But, when Spike's small size and immaturity take him to the brink of frustration, the magical alternative his new "friend" proposes could change the course of his life forever.

Just a note here, it's 3 am where I am and I can't be arsed to go through and transfer all the formatting (which doesn't, it seems, get copy/pasted over). I may do it at a later date, but for now, I need to go to bed, as I have to fight hobos in the morning.
Truly excellent fanfic. It was one of the first I started reading.
One of the first MLP fanfics I ever read, and so far one of the best. Although the grammar could use some significant improvements at some points, I find the story intriguing and compelling, and I always find myself anticipating the next chapter.
I hope everything will turn out alright for Spike and Twilight...
Take as long as you need with your story, don't try to pressure yourself with it. On topic with the story though, I feel pretty sorry for Twilight in this one, not that this story didn't make me want to throw my laptop out the window screaming "NOOOOOOOOO" in a very Spike-esque way after she tried to kill herself though.
I have a few hunches about what that tome might have said too, but I'll just have to wait and see for that one :P Good job, nice chapter.

I've got a challenge for you, lad. Go get a kitchen knife. Take it, and stab yourself in the sternum. Then, pull it out, go to the hospital, get stitches and pop a few t3's.
Add that to a 5 day a week job. Do that for a few weeks, then tell me how much you feel like writing. I was tempted to just put the bloody thing on hiatus for a few months, I got you what I could.

I'm a security guard. Some guy came into the library I work at (full of kids, I might add) obviously high off his ass, I had to drop him. Yeeeeah, he definitely got the worst of that exchange.
10745 Most security guards I have seen have guns, and that man would have never gotten close enough to them with a knife to do any damage (Meaning he would have had a cap in his a**, so to speak).

Ok, so.
This guy walks in, right? He's all cracked out on something, shaking like he's got a jackhammer up his ass. Now, he's right next to the children's section, so I've gotta say something, because he's probably dangerous. I go to speak to him, and he immediately turns around and stabs me in the fucking sternum with a kitchen knife.
Needless to say, I didn't take that very well. I think I broke his arm, and I'm just about positive I broke his face with my kneecap. Then I sent him my drycleaning bill through the police. I gotta pay for that uniform, damnit!
Seriously, though, just everybody around me's reactions, the librarians on duty were just O_o;
Took bloody forever for the cops to show up, though. Had to lock the fucker in a study room, gave him a bucket so he'd stop bleeding all over the damn carpet.

I'm in Canada, and we somewhat frown upon wanton gun violence. We're not usually armed.
I thought Canada was a safe happy place D: I've never heard of this stuff happening in Australia, in a library no less. It happens at train stations sometimes but it's only because the people are involved in nasty things. Our security guards don't get guns either, but sometimes they have dogs and batons :D.
Why is that library so scary O_0 And where you in the news, that totally sounds news worthy.

Not overly, no. Couple centimeters. But yeah, Canada is a bloody wonderful place, some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Unfortunately, even we have people who turn to drugs and get their faces broken when they go bibbledy batshit and stab security guards.

I love this. Mustve sucked being stabbed though. I really hope that he wins though. People always think people like him are the villains and are monsters, but they're not. He understands how the world works. How evil works. He tries to stop it even if it isn't the best way to do so. He admits it himself. Because he understands he is judged worse than the ones who don't and are pure evil. They should persecute the evil of the world not him. I am with him all the way!
