Let me be the first to say, if you don't like the scene with Lyra and Bon-Bon, then you hate fun. D: It's my favorite part of this story.

reads, description...I know where this is going.:moustache:

*reads*
... yep!

Great job!

Sounds interesting, tracked for later.

I was wondering when you'd post this here.

Your gay!
Your face is gay!
How can you not like that?:rainbowhuh:

Wondered when this one would come out, too.

I edited it! =D

Finally up, woo! I love this story it makes me :twilightsheepish:

Read this on ED. Great story and puts an interesting perspective on things.

Good to see this story here. Read it on EqD long ago and enjoyed it.

Faved and upvoted.

*squee!* :pinkiehappy: You posted this! It's about time!

Oh my god, Blueshift commented on your story! Wow, be commended. Anyways, I really like your story, and I can't see how anyone cannot laugh at Lyra and Bon-Bon.

"You're gay!"

"Your face is gay!"

Also, I completely agree. Mushroom is Cool Dad.

on my to read list.

This story is adorable but Mushroom Gravy is still the most uncomfortable name for a gay horse ever.

Glad to see this here, loved it on eqd

Some people didn't like the characterization, some didn't like the fandom shoutout. They didn't realize that scene was the whole reason I wrote this story.

626658
Oh dear. D:

Hm. After reading this, I'm rather irritated at myself that I missed it on Equestria Daily; this sort of thing is right up my alley. The Mushrooms are a lovely group of OC ponies, and it's easy to like all three of them.

I'd say my only criticism in terms of plot would be that Scootaloo's emotions don't seem explored enough, making her outburst about "stealing somepony's dad" be a little unexpected to the reader rather than a natural buildup, the way I think it would be more effective.

I kind of wanted to scream every time there were lots of lines of dialogue with 3+ characters talking and no dialogue tags. I frequently had to puzzle out who was saying what, and that took a wrecking ball to pacing as I was dragged out of the scene. See also Lavender Unicorn Syndrome.

Still, a fine story.

Those sections are meant to simulate a scene where everyone's talking at once. It's supposed to be hard to follow.

I probably won't do it again. :V

Awwww, that's such a sweet gay couple. And they have a kid! too cute.

The "Ewww, gay" part was pitch-perfect hilarity! The delicious intentional irony, the fandom shoutout, "Responsible Bon Bon", all so good. :rainbowlaugh: I love it like awesome. :rainbowdetermined2:

Wow, I also wish I hadn't missed this when it was posted on EQD.

Excellent story, and I am glad that you posted it here and that I noticed it.

And yeah, the Lyra and Bon Bon scene was hilarious.

"I'm just glad he doesn't recall the hours spent we at her bedside, watching as she wasted away."

I think this may be a bit off.

Really good story, but I wish there was more. I'd love to see the Gravies (is that what you'd call them?) again.

FUCK

How do I miss these things?

And I have two sequels planned, but they're not high on my priority list right now.

i just finished rereading this and wanted to say amazing work. i dont often go back and read fanfictions again, but this one was very nicely written, and i enjoyed your characterization so much. you are a most definitely wonderful writer :pinkiehappy:

Thank you! That I made something worth rereading is high praise. :)

Do you have any references of the family? If not, could I possible draw them? Either way this is a lovely story, and either way I want to draw some fan art!

Well, Gravy Whisk is right there in the story image. I have a horrible first-gen pony-generator image of them here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v243/TakeWalker/gravies.png

If you do draw them, link me? :D

Brilliant story, one of my favourites, glad to see a story that doesn't have Scootaloo as an orphan or homeless or something else unpleasent

Single-parent family not bad enough? ;P

Can't believe I let this one slide by without making a comment on it too :facehoof:

I truly loved this story. The OCs are all believable, and definitely show care and time spent in making them so. Bravo, sir, and I do hope to see more of their adventures soon :pinkiehappy:

I dunno about the 'soon' part, but some day...

And thank you. :)

Very nicely done, mate. This is a concept that needs to come up more. Also:

"What? They're totally gay!"

"You are gay!"

"Your face is gay!"

"Oh, we are not doing this!"

I think I just died laughing. :rainbowlaugh:

Excellent!:pinkiehappy::twilightsmile::moustache:

You need to put your stories into more groups.
If You don't want to join a bunch of groups, Just PM this guy. But you write good stories, and they're languishing in relative obscurity.

Honestly, I don't understand how groups work here. All I've heard is if you join a group and post your fic in it, that's frowned upon, and that's pretty much all I would do. I don't have time to keep up with all of the two groups I'm actually involved in.

I thank you for the vote of confidence though! I just let other people do it; I have honestly never added a single one of my fics to a group.

I, for one, loved the scene with Lyra and Bon Bon when I first read it.

Congratulations, you love fun. :D

This was a pretty good take on the concept. I disagree with that commenter above who thought that Scootaloo's feelings weren't well-developed enough. You set up the scene with Scootaloo's mom and the reason for her emotions had a very childlike form of logic to it.

619959
Gotta say, I've never seen that fan meme incorporated into a fic before. Good job!

626658
I'm not sure I get the joke here.

Dammit, DPV :|

Damn. Every time I hear the phrase 'bio-dad' I wish that I had two men as my parents. Oh well, I guess straight parents are better than nothing.

PresentPerfect

3279468
Well, your dad is still technically your bio-dad, there's just not much reason to call him that. :B (Do it anyway.)

3280750

That'd be funny. Going around saying 'Bio-Dad' instead of just 'Dad' and confusing people. Although lots of people think my dad is a woman anyways. I can't say how many times I've heard people call him 'ma'am' over the phone.

This is great read, love it. There's even a hint that he ends up with Sweetie later in life.

Good pacing, good writing style you got here bro! Hope to see more out of you.

(Spoiler: He does! :D Because I am not above shipping my OC with best foal.)

3404315 (Awesome :D, I know this is mediocre of me to ask but will there be an sequel for that? Whisk with Sweetie Belle I mean) XD
