Rarity and company are apprehensive regarding their latest task: giving a friendly welcome to the arriving dignitaries from the far-off and mysterious country of Hippopolis. However, as it turns out, the hippos are already quite knowledgeable about friendship, and Rarity quickly falls head-over-heels for their leader, a paragon of generosity.
Yus.
didn't read the story, saw the title in my feed and cracked up laughing!!! you sir, get a like for that, well done.
Holy shit you're serious.
Well written and with perfect pov from Rarity.
This is amazing. You may have given us the best Rarity pairing imaginable. So much generosity.
Eagerly looking forward to more, especially if Prince Phelddagrif goes on some manner of grand quest.
Fascinating.

Thank you! I wasn't expecting such a positive reception!

Well, this deserves it!
Phelddagrif!?
Let's see how tolerant the mane 6 will be in the presence of one of MtG's most iconic Huggers!
And the hugging begins!
Don't let him fool you Twilight! He may seem kind and generous, but in reality he's a communist!
Every time you hold yourself to ladylike behavior?
In any case, giving out hippos, health, and knowledge? That's Phelddagrif alright. Though while his presence can be inspirational, I hope he does fund charities as well. The money can empower a lot more hippopower than the prince can personally provide, no matter how powerful his magic is. (Granted, this is almost certainly the case, but still.)
Honestly, I'm beginning to worry that Rarity simply can't measure up to Phelddagrif's level of selflessness. This may yet end in tragedy. I don't want it to, but I can see the potential.
Yes please.
As Restaurant Row is a street name, it is generally capitalized.
each other. Two words.
Lovely chapter.
I do love how this story has given us the phrase "special somehippo."
That certainly explained why Brave Heart, Ponyville's bane of all pottery, had been following us since we'd left the Boutique.
The fact that Coriander is half-hippo has many interesting implications for the happy couple...
I continue to adore this. Looking forward to more whenever it may come.

That about sums up my feelings towards this story.

This comment, all the yes.
Best crossover ship? Best crossover ship. Thank you for a surprisingly sweet and sincere bit of absurdity.
A fitting end for a great story. Even though the more dramatic side of my taste in romance suggests that it would've been equally appreciated if the romance were to end with a permanent goodbye between them, the boundless optimism in the classic "Happily Ever After" choice is far from a poor choice.
Suffice to say I'll be reading this again, and enjoying it. 8/10!

Crossover?
Now I'm curious... what was it crossing over with?

Magic: the Gathering. Specifically, the royal personage himself.
