Told from the perspective of Scootaloo, the CMC go on one adventure after another, ostensibly trying to get their cutie marks and help each other out, but let's be honest, they're just looking to have fun. They're joined by two new members, pegasus filly Lightning Strike and earth pony colt Dusk.

These are intended to be just random adventures.

*This series plays off the mid point of season five and will be ignoring whatever comes next. Also Scootaloo is Rainbow's adopted daughter in this story like half the fandom seems to want. Not a Scootadopt story, her adoption has already occurred.*

Yeah I'm the first to read this like and comment. Well I haven't read it but I do like Scootaloo being the Daughter of Dash. Do you think you can right a prequel of how she was adopted?

Nvm, I'm going to assume that Your wanted is a prequel.

Thanks.

You're Wanted kind of is a prequel. You don't NEED to read it or Mentoring is Awesome to enjoy this story, but if you want, they both exist and will likely give you a better understanding of this version of Scootaloo and the two new CMC recruits. Again, they all occur in the same universe, but I will take great pains to ensure you do not HAVE to read one story to understand and enjoy the others.

This story focuses mostly on humor and adventure. Mentoring is Awesome focuses on much the same thing, while deliberately constantly involving both weird circumstances, and music based material. You're Wanted is intended to be a lot more emotionally driven though, so be warned, it is very different.

I've just started reading your wanted. I just finished the first chapter, and its great. I'm trying to do my own scootadopt got any tips? By the way whats your opinion on Soarin and Dash being scootaloo's parents? Thous are my favorite scootadopt.:pinkiehappy:

Often the story is tragic, but it doesn't have to be. If you use tragedy in any story, try to draw from your own experiences or what you know others have gone through, it makes things seem more genuine.

As to a pairing, I know little of Soarin other than he should totally dump the wonderbolts after what they pulled on him. Pairing him with Rainbow is a great idea. Only advice I have on that is, DO NOT have Rainbow marry just to have a better family for Scoots. In real life trying to get a spouse ASAP after adopting or in any way getting a child, is a recipe for disaster. Better to just be a single parent than rush the dating process. You could just try having it be accepted fact that Soarin is already her husband.

Hmm, interesting. I was planning on Soarin slowly wining her heart by bonding with Scootaloo and being kind. I planed for him to save Scootaloo a few times passably. Some tragedy would make it more interesting and I'm kind of already doing that. My life has bean mostly bland by most peoples standards. The only thing I have experienced in my life is being falsely called gay from first to sixth grade.

I sorta agree with you on him dumping the Wonder Bolts, but they did redeem them selves. Also that's probably his dream job and only source of money. Heck even his cutie mark from earlier in the series was WB logo meaning his destiny is the Wonder Bolts.

That's an idea. The knight in shinning armor routine has to be good for at least getting a hoof in the door. Either than or just being Scoot's new mentor (which may cause an unintentionally romantic rivalry). I see a potential issue if the story of Scootaloo is tragic however. Rainbow would be wise NOT to start dating with a traumatized foal on her hooves. The last thing a kid like that probably needs is male role models rotating in and out of her life. Maybe have the story be of him winning over Rainbow in spite of herself? Also, remember good relationships between grownups take time and are more relatable if you find a way to portray that instead of the Disney love at first sight formula.

Also, for tragic real life stories, just find some online. If an experience is real, it is technically valid.

Well considering Scootaloo already lost her second adoptive dad; I would think a good male role model becoming her father or father figure would have a positive effect. Along with her biggest hero becoming her mother on top of that. I think it would be safe to assume that Scootaloo is a fan of Soarin's as well. But that's my opinion.

6400410

I agree, these are just opinions. What I'm getting at is what normally happens with dating. You rarely strike gold on the first try. Normally a woman will meet five or six complete asshats before meeting just one prince charming. Imagine the effect THAT has on an already traumatized kid. Agreed, a positive male role model would be nice for any child (as would a positive female role model before someone calls me sexist), But is the pay off worth the price?

I guess we're already getting at an interesting struggle for Rainbow to have. Being a single parent isn't easy, but to find Mr. Right you have to go through all the Mr. Wrongs. Does she opt to take the risk and date or does she try to play it safe and just ask her friends and family for help in raising Scootaloo?

6401332

I'll keep that in mined. May be I'll have a point were scootaloo starts wishing for a father and Dash cant figure out whats got her down.

6401420

That DOES happen. Now you have to think about not only why Rainbow would care, which is a simple matter of the fact that she cares for Scoots, but why doesn't she deny this? Is she just naive and starts looking for a stallion on the impulse that Scoots wants a father or does Scootaloo's longing start to become worry some and over power Rainbow's fears of accidentally dating a bad guy? Lots to think about.

Another recommendation, avoid the route of "she just longs for someone to hold while she sleeps" or "longs for romance in her life" or some other such thing, as such DOES work for some people, it just sound really cheesy to me. I might buy it if Rainbow used to be married or has been dating for a long time and so knows what she's missing, but TV show Rainbow seems to have no idea about romance or why she should care. The father angle is much better. There's even the possibility that Rainbow REALLY looked up to her father and she starts to believe it worth any risk to get Scootaloo a father daughter relationship like she had. Naive, sure, but it is true to life.

6401753

I like that Idea. I do plan for Rainbow to also have a small romantic interest in soarin. I could make it so she is unsure if its a right move for fear of how scootaloo would react. Yet she doesn't realize that scootaloo would be over joyed about it. I don't know but you did give me a lot to think about. I'll keep all your tips in mined.

Well... that was powerful.

Will this ever get continued?
