"No matter how many friends you do lose...you can always make more." - Michael J. Caboose

Trixie finds herself in a mysterious building where she can buy an argument. What follows is exactly what you expect.

An mlpxmonty python crossover. Mainly the 'Argument Clinic' skit.

Cover art by the amazing Snow Bullet!

Well, it was most defective resembling a Monty Phyton sketch. Good job, it seems similar to the dead parrot sketch though.

6850020 Both skits are very similar. You could argue it's like 'The Cheese Shop' skit as well.

Wow, this was hilarious. :rainbowlaugh:

You must write another with Pinkie.

6850063 Thanks.:pinkiehappy:

As for Pinkie...that would be hard. I don't think I could make a legitimate reason for Pinkie to do this...

Well, that was...Trixie. Kind of funny too. Best part of this is that I can actually see this happening in the series.

So...nice enough story.

One with Pinkie would be fun

But I'd like to see one with Fluttershy.

6850388 i kinda want to see one with either Twilight or Rainbow Dash.

6850388 I'm not sure I could that one off...why would Fluttershy want to do an argument? That and she wouldn't do any kind of rebuttal for this. She would probably agree with the arguer.

6850708 I might be able to do a Twilight one...though it would be a lot more similar to the original skit. As for Rainbow Dash...it would be more similar to this story. Trixie and Rainbow are very close in personality after all.

:D Oh, that was good!

6850882 Actually, that one would be interesting to see, if for no other reason than the arguer would probably be completely dumbfounded as Fluttershy agreed with everything he said.

As for why Fluttershy gets an argument-it could be a gift from a friend, or maybe someone told her it would help build confidence.

Regardless, hilarity would ensue.

6850904 True...I just might do a sequel. I just need to make sure I could do a full chapter...and make it in character.

6850882 You can totally do a Fluttershy one, it could be a reverse of this skit. The pony trying to get into an argument then failing.

6853110 True...I'm actually thinking of doing one now. I'm trying to figure out exactly how it would work.

I don't know why, but MLP and Monty Python are just so perfect for each other. :rainbowlaugh:

6853879 Monty Python can go together with just about anything.

They reference benny hill... clearly some comedy is timeless. I'm surprised there isn't an episode titled 'Look #5'

OMG, I remember doing a skit with this episode with my Spotlight group! XD

I loved this! Great job!

I can't help but feel like it needed more of a twist ending. The idea has promise though.

6904460 That was the one part I couldn't figure out. That's why it ends abruptly.

"I'm not exactly satisfied with this ending but...I couldn't think of a better way to end it. Oh well..."

Personally, I think you could've ended it off with something that more closely demonstrated Trixie's character because one could assume that, at least in this instance, she would be more likely to cough up another bit and continue debating. And perhaps you could've built that up into... well, what someone else mentioned about a twist ending.

6904505

Speaking of which, maybe you could've done just that; end the story abruptly. Like, just cut it in the middle there before we got to the punchline. That's a very Pythonesque

But yeah. I guess the buildup is decent enough...? Yeah, it is. It's more that the ending didn't really pay off.

7084127 I get what you're getting at but...I don't know. I wrote the one-shot, intending it to have it end at the end of the argument. I didn't know another way to end it.

I'm also considering doing a sequel. (I didn't at the time I wrote it. I am now.)

7084774 It's understandable.

I'm not entirely sure if a sequel should be done, though...?

I mean, at the least if you're attempting to mimic Pythonesque humour, which very rarely has recurring sketches.

7090780 I meant doing the same kind of story/sketch but thru a different character. The original reason I did Trixie is I accidentally thought up the idea that Trixie would be a great character (Big ego, braggart) to think she could 'beat' an argument. Thanks to a few comments in this story, I slowly got a few ideas on how to go and do another character for this situation.

Hilarious. I love Monty Python and MLP. This was perfect
