The world is full of things that will confuse, frighten, sadden, or mystify those who look at them. Curiosity causes us to look at those odd things of a darker nature.
Shadow Play is a series of short stories that are based around dark, sad, "mind-bending", thrilling, etc. themes and tones.
For it is not what we desire that makes us curious, but it is what we fear that makes us want.

So, very simply, this was not the story I meant to introduce Shadow Play with, but a good friend insisted that I: a) use this storyline for a Shadow Play story, and b) that I should use a story that is both dark and sad to lead this thing out.

Originally the ending was supposed to give you brief hope before absolutely destroying it completely, as well as toy around with your mind a bit, and I may put up the alternate ending in due time, but the pure pointlessness is what I was really trying to go for in a way that was not too disappointing. There is miniscule plot, but in the end it just causes you to sit back and go: "What?", but not in a confused "I don't get it" sort of way.
Anyway, I'm glad that you liked it and I will continue to post as time progresses.

Thanks for the favorite as always, and you are correct that many of these are going to be in the same realm as the Twilight Zone, but I will attempt not to breach that border and go into their plots too much. But they have perfect ideas for this sort of thing, so there might have to be some parodies.
So...did you not like the ending? Were you looking for something more? A way to wrap up the entire thing?

No, I meant as in "bad ending". It's great for the story, but shitty for the characters. You know, if you play certain games and you fuck up certain criteria, you get the BAD END.

Utter hopelessness. But, that's all you can have when the sun closes in on your home. I wonder how Celestia died though? Did she try pushing the sun away?
Maybe that could be the next story, tell it from Celestia's standpoint.

Thanks for the watch, great to have you. I was attempting to imply that she went to push the sun away and died in the process, yes. Hmm...a different POV on the story, eh? I will play around with that, see what I can do, but a couple of other stories are going to be uploaded in Shadow Play, as I am currently working on them, and as such a continuation will not come immediately. But very good suggestion, I like it.
