Icenrose

Slamming my head against my desk until words come out.

E

Trixie Lulamoon has made a hefty wager that she can travel around the world in fewer than eighty days, and has enlisted the help of her faithful friend Starlight Glimmer to do it! To achieve victory, they will need to test the very limits of their wits, their endurance... even their friendship.

Will it be enough?

And, perhaps more importantly, will it be worth it?

A thematic crossover with the lovely indie game 80 Days, as encouraged by horizon.

Glad to see it out!

You're going to go places with this story...pun not intended!

My god. Another one.

Horizon, what have you done?

7518949 Glad to have it out! Sorry it took so long. :twilightsheepish:

7519003 I am indeed. Buckle up!

7520279 He did what needed doing! :pinkiehappy: I'm looking forward to reading yours, by the way, now that mine is in a stable format.

Nice read. Chapters are a bit short, though. There's also very little setup, i.e. explanation for why they're doing this.

7537380 It's important to know your limits. How else is she supposed to know what they are? :trollestia:

This is my favorite chapter so far. That sense of culture shock really comes through in the detail of the singing, and Trixie is being a lot more engaged in the trip than Fogg ever was, which sets up an interesting dynamic.

7541938 He's loosely based on a good friend of my grandfather's. He'd always belt out sea shanties when they went sailing together.

Oh, my.

... Definitely something up with the lack of cloud buoyancy, though there are enough variations of relevant headcanon that I'm not quite sure what yet. Going to be interesting to see how that resolves.

Really, girls, really? I'm pretty sure the Mane 6 are understanding enough to call off a wager for the sake of healing up from an injury. Are they acting out of character for the sake of the story? :ajbemused:

7554498 In fairness, Twilight and Fluttershy (at the very least) would probably be that lenient... if they ever learned about it.

Trixie strikes me as the type to be a bit too proud to ask for an extension, though. Especially this early in the game.

Very well-reasoned, Trixie.
Still, your mental gymnastics probably aren't distracting enough for Starlight to forget how you reacted to the mention of your grandfather.
(I'd kinda like to know, too.)
