This is a very cute story. The only thing that distracted me was having the color blocks in there. I understand why you put them in there, but it broke up your writing and kind of pulled me out of the story that you were telling. It took me a few more sentences to get back into the story.
As a reader, we don't always have to have things presented to us in exactness. I think that if you were to have taken out the color blocks we would not be missing too much. Some might be confused about what colors they're exactly talking about, but in the end it's knowing that the colors go with twilight that is important rather than knowing what exact colors look like.
But other than that, I thought that it was cute. Good job.
Gotta disagree with the other guy really helpful having the colour there didn't have to Google a thing. I think it's safe to say you got my vote(if we could vote) for the contest.

I liked the cover art much more than the fic. Not saying it was bad, just kinda rushed and meh.

I thought it was a cute little story.
Since you had the color swatches in it, you could have given them new pony names ... I think that would have been a nice touch.
